Democrat Insists New Healthcare Law Doesn’t Force People to Buy Insurance
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^

Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) insists that the recently enacted Obamacare law does not require anyone to purchase health insurance. Republicans who say the law forces people to buy insurance are lying for political gain.
The law gives people several options, Schultz pointed out. First, and of course, most recommended, is that they may buy insurance coverage. A second option is that they may pay a fine. And the third option is that they may go to prison. So, those who maintain that we have eliminated choice are just plain wrong.

The satire piece is actually true. It is extremely close to what she actually said. If you’ve seen the clip of her responding to the guy who asked about this, that’s pretty much what she said. People can opt not to buy it, they’ll just pay a ‘tax’.
How ridiculous is that. It’s just a tax.
Hey people earning under 250K a year are exempt from tax increases per Obama. Guess we can ignore that then, right Debbie?

The Democrats are so generous in providing the undeserving people with so many choices! /s
Like their choice of Devaluing the dollar, De-tooling America, and Disarming.
Wait! We get to have all three!!!

The reason it is funny is that you can almost hear the ditz actually saying these words.

Once again, you have nailed it, John.
BTW, by the same token, doctors and hospitasl have three options under ObamaCare: Charge more for their services, charge the same for their services, or charge less for their services.
Not that it’ll make much difference in how much (correction: how little) they actually receive from ObamaCare, but at least they have a choice.

Too funny John. I read it aloud to my wife after telling her it was one of your articles, and she still was in a rage. She finally calmed down as I repeated several times that is was one of your satires.
It’s the times, and there isn’t much funny about the Leftists and their assault on American values.
Thanks for the chuckle. Next time I’ll make very certain she understands it’s one of your satires.

So, those who maintain that we have eliminated choice are just plain wrong. That's good stuff, Mr. Semmes. And, it's so close to what the democrats are ACTUALLY saying, and so close to the ACTUAL beliefs of most of themn regarding individual freedom, as to almost not be satire at all.

When government and business are in bed together, bad things result, 100% of the time. Government no longer is a neutral broker, they become an unofficial tool of coercion. They no longer define the framework in which business competitively operates, but rather tell and dictate what you ought to buy, at what price, when, where, and how. The free market gets derailed, and in the end whatever they control becomes a government administered program where the resources are allocated along political lines based on lobbyists and ideologies, not what the “consumer” wants. Innovation and efficiency are not important but special programs from buying green, a diverse work force, green power, to small business empowerment are important. In the end, like the VA, all sorts of things become important depending on whose in power and what congress man makes them into an issue, but the Vet has zero influence and control over his own health care. The only real looser here is the consumer and the American public, for they lost some more freedom for the promise of security.
