Nancy Pelosi wasn't kidding when she said, "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."
Buried deep within the the Democrat health care bill is a secret payoff to immigrants that defies American traditions and was heretofore undisclosed.
Hidden within the 2,400-page DemCare legislation is a bullet to the head of the longstanding "public charge" doctrine. The doctrine states that "no alien can be allowed into the United States if he is going to become a burden on the US taxpayer upon entry -- a public charge."
...
By granting amnesty for at least 10.8 million illegal immigrants, the Democrat health care bill will cost $162 billion a year -- or $1.62 trillion, which the CBO never took into account.
And the CBO would not consider such a variable in their equations how? What did they use? PFM accounting?
Vote them out in November! Repeal the Bill! This anti-American bill, passed by life’s losers (DIMs) will not stand.

When I immigrated to the US in 1871, before I came I signed documents and swore that I would not apply for welfare, food stamps, free medical, any type of “public assistance”...
I would be deported if I did...
I also had to have a certain amount of money with me...
When this changed I dont know...
I was a legal immigrant (Registed Alien) who was allowed a “green card (Alien Registration Card) after 90 days so that I could work here...
My green card arrived in the mail after 60 days and then I worked...
But before that I had to support myself...
In those days the difference between an American citizen and a registed alien was ...I couldnt vote or hold a government job...not even the Post Office...
But I could be drafted (if a male) and I could go in the US Armed Forces..
(Illegal aliens can not go into the service either)
When any of that changed I dont know...
BTW, PFM is ‘Pretty F* ing Magic’
I sorta figured you for a seasoned citizen, Nana, but not that seasoned!
Yeah well, youngster. I’ve been here a while...

Exactly how do you do that, when you can guarantee a Presidential veto?
I signed the same thing 5 years ago when I sponsored my wife, she is from Austria. I think it was for 7 years though, I GUARANTEED her Support and everything else imaginable. needless to say this really pisses me off, especially after spending $10,000 to make her LEGAL.
Welcome to America, Mrs Eyemok...
:)
Vote note to fund it or enforce it.

I knew that, but I couldn't resist :-)
bttt
What is the sectin of the bill and verbage that limits the burden? Did I miss something?
How old are you. That is when my grandparents came to the USA.
Considering that only a few percent of the bill is spent before 2013, most of the regulations require zero Federal spending. Spending comes when free healthcare gets doled out. Defunding won’t do much. And changing law to remove enforcement meets the same veto problem.
Buried deep within the the Democrat health care bill.
To see whats in it you to pass it first, they did idiots.
By not funding it. That i8s appeal enough for now.
Except that 99% of the spending kicks in well past 2013; its collecting taxes now, and forcing regulation changes, things which require essentially no cost for Government but big costs for private industry. Defunding will not stop the regulatory changes or the collection of taxes.
“And the CBO would not consider such a variable in their equations how?”
The screed wasn’t very well written. I believe the author means that the long-standing public charge doctrine was removed in the health bill. This implies that IF Congress extends amnesty to current illegals, all will become eligible for health care (whereas under the old doctrine they presumably would not have until after 5 years; and without amnesty, they would not be eligible at all). Since Congress has not (yet) enacted immigration reform, CBO was under no obligation to count this potential future cost since all their estimates are based on “current law.”
