Obama Will Control Your Food

Those of us who are informed and educated have the ability to see that the current Obama administration is taking us toward a socialist society. Obama and his minions have a radical agenda to transform the way America functions, taking away freedoms and handing over control of our lives to the government.

Those who are still star-struck by Obama and his lying orations refuse to believe that the president and his administration are steering toward more governmental control over our lives. For these people, convincing them has been a lesson in futility, as they will not believe anything they hear from those of higher education, experience, and intellect. As long as they continue to get their free government handout, they are content with the government running their lives. Well, here is something that might change their mind, finally.

For those who do not think our country is heading toward a socialist society, look no further than the plate of food you have in front of you. U.S. regulators are planning a push to gradually cut the amount of salt Americans consume, saying less sodium would reduce deaths from hypertension and heart disease, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday. This will lead to the first legal limits on the amount of salt allowed in processed foods, the newspaper reported. The plan is to be launched this year but officials have not yet set limits on salt.

Still not convinced? The reason these limits are being set is due to a government agency report. This report states that eating too much salt is a major cause of high blood pressure, which the Institute of Medicine, one of the National Academies of Sciences, last week declared a "neglected disease" that costs the U.S. health system $73 billion a year. That’s $73 billion that has to be cut so that some of the bogus math in Obama’s health care plan will pan out. If they can control what you eat in an effort to control government health care costs, they can save money to be spent on other pet projects.

This is called the social burden theory. Some activities and lifestyles are riskier than others. These activities and lifestyles end up creating more health care concerns and when treating those concerns cost the taxpayers’ money, the theory is to reduce those concerns and reduce the cost to the taxpayers. Simple, right?

Well guess what Mr. and Mrs. Welfare recipient…your food stamps will only be good for low-sodium foods and your government cheese will be of the low-sodium variety. That doesn’t sound like too bad of a trade-off, at least not if you’re not thinking about what you eat on a daily basis. Consider that a single serving bag of potato chips has more than half the government allowance of sodium, and pretty soon, you’ll realize that you won’t be able top buy anymore chips, mac&cheese, hot dogs….the list goes on.

If you’re still not convinced that Obama’s socialism will take over your life, then think further about the social burden theory. If they outlaw salt…and they will…they will then outlaw cigarettes, outlaw beer, outlaw red meat, and the list goes on. They will then look toward hazardous activities that are risky to your health. Motorcycle riding? No more. Skiing? No more. Swimming? Drowning is the number one cause of death for children in many states, so what do you think will happen to swimming pools? The government has taken over the banking system. They are taking over the auto industry. They are now going to tightly control what you eat. If you can’t see the socialist road map being created by this, you’re not only in denial, you’re just plain stupid.

Salt is also a preservative. Don’t put enough salt in certain foods that are canned or packaged, you end up with bad food that’ll make you sick. Or the shelf life will be cut drastically. This is not good.

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Jew.

When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.

This may sway independents, but what a lot of people don’t realize is the mindset of leftists that this is good.

It is amazing how they feel the government SHOULD be invested with this power. I have a liberal family member, love her dearly, talking to her is sometimes like being in the twilight zone.

After all, why shouldn’t the government protect you from everything it can? Allowing entities to endanger your life is denying you your rights. Allowing injustices to happen is the same. Corporations have more money than God. The government SHOULD put the burden on them, to protect you. That’s the mindset. And it’s so strange.

Salt is also essential for standard chemical reactions in food. You can't make decent bread without salt.

I have posted about this a couple of times before:

With the state of our current technology, I can see the Government handing out Monthly, or Quarterly, debit cards for the purchase of only food.

In conjunction with the mandatory health crap, you will be allowed to purchase only certain types, and quantities of items in a grocery store, and this will be tracked on the data base to ensure you do not exceed your Government-set limit for the month.

This makes for total control because if you make a Government employee or politician mad they can cancel or suspend your account and starve you and your family until you bow to their wishes and whims.

The advancement of our technology, and they wealth we still have, has the ability to make the Soviets look like pikers when it comes to the total control of every aspect of peoples’ lives.

This country is essentially a communist country and it didn’t just happen under Obama.

If anyone around here thinks its nap time after November, you’re a clueless moron. It’s been about a century of progressive attacks on liberty that have brought us to where we are.

But hey, if you accept that a government can regulate marijuana, cocaine or other drugs, why not vitamins, herbs, meat, cheese, milk, etc?

It’s all to help you. They have to safe you from yourself. You could kill yourself with those things!

You can’t accept any bit of the nanny state or it will grow like the cancer it is.

Starvation is the most common tool of mass murder used by dictators.

But come on, it can’t happen here! This is the USA! USA! Nothing bad could ever happen here.

And remember, even if Ears’ regime decides to starve you, remember you’re free and living in the land of the free and home of the brave!

To take this to its logical extreme, no more kitchens in homes. Everyone is issued rations of government approved MRE-lites.

“If you’re still not convinced that Obama’s socialism will take over your life, then think further about the social burden theory.”

So, by this reasoning, you will be required to do the standard level of exercise - but no more! For those of you who like to do marathons, triathlons, or other athletic endeavors, not only is that risky due to overuse injuries, but also not fair that you be in better shape than average. Unless of course you are a member of a national sports team to be used for propaganda advantage (and get juiced with whatever chemicals that are not yet detectable by WADA, think the amazing sports programs of the glorious DDR).

Not to mention food inequality (see obamacare). National Food Care or Nutritional Reform will fix the problem of unfair disadvantages of our food distribution. We just want to spread the food around. Nationalize the (all) grocers and insure that regulators allow or disallow what you (92% of the country) can have so that the disadvantaged (8%) get theirs. Then open the borders. Like fries with that?

I shock the hell out of people here in Minnesota when I say that there was no famine in Ethiopia in the 1980’s. Instead it was a deliberate forced relocation campaign by the Mengistu regime (a Soviet client, and very much a Stalin devotee). The drought was used as an excuse, and it was done to settle tribal and political scores. In other words, a genocide campaign right out of Stalin’s playbook. Why else did food that was donated either rot on the docks or sold to other countries on the black market?

You are absolutely right. This isn’t an Obama phenomenom. It took a lot of “work” over the past decades to make the conditions right for an Obama to come onto the scene. God help this country and strengthen her patriots for the fight to come.

The Roman Legions were paid with salt. The word salary derives form this practice.

Now Obama and his thugs plan to control our salt as well as our salary!

Amazing what history teaches us.

If this isn't the dictatorship of the proletariat you need to read the works of Marx, Engles, Lenin and Hitler!

That’s so true. It’s already bad enough that the government is meddling in so much of our lives. If the government starts messing with our food it’ll be a nightmare. They tried to pass regulations where you had to have a permit to plant even a backyard garden. They wanted to tag every animal. If you bought an animal they would know, if you sold the animal you had to report it. If you took the animal off your farm for even a vet visit they wanted to know. Nightmare!

The food manufacturers are reducing salt content on their own now, the consumers are demanding low sodium products and they are providing those products and more and more to come down the pipeline. Regulation isn’t needed.

Will the manufacturers have enough time to deliver what the consumer and government is demanding before expensive regulation hoops - draconian taxation and hefty industrial funding for health deities and dictates? Who knows? This government works very fast in the ScareStreamMedia.

I find it interesting that the government isn’t on a Fiber regulation scare - maybe it’s because the industry is way ahead of the curve and is adding Fiber to just about everything...if the companies didn’t raise fiber on their own I bet you a buck there would be Media Scare stories on fiber and how regulations on fiber would be a welcome addition to the nanny state..
