Did Obama join the Spending Challenge?

The Committee for Responsible Federal Budget team claimed today that President Obama joined the Spending Challenge with the following comment:

My first priority is to figure out how can we reduce wasteful spending so that, you know, we have a baseline of the core services that we need and the government should provide, and then we decide how do we pay for that.

Let me pop the balloon for the CRFB. The only wasteful spending that Obama cut so far were 100 million dollars in pencils and paperclips savings. I am all for cutting goodies for bureaucrats, however this crusade against wasting ink on butt-copying in government offices is hardly enough to improve the catastrophic baseline of the current budget policy.

On the other hand President Obama wasted year and a half on pushing down our throat mandatory health insurance. That is not even federal business to make people buy things (securing the Southern border however is a federal business and Obama did nothing on that).

We listened to the same old progressive lies about people dying on the streets without health insurance.

After ObamaCare passed into law the folks found out – they will continue to be uninsured, because the social perks in the bill only start in 2014. However, Obama and friends made sure the taxes and the building of the 158 new health care bureaucracies start immediately. All those thousands a day dying without insurance disappeared from the talking points and were left to the statistics.

The HHS budget is bigger than the Defense Department! Hello! The USA doesn’t need new health care bureaucracies. Not unless you close all the old ones that messed up the system anyway. If HHS cannot regulate the health care costs. Than what gives you hope that a new agency will?....
