"According to the family, Obama's father travelled to America to study at the University of Hawaii in 1959.

While there, he worked for an oil company and married his second wife, a white woman, named Anna Toot, and their union produced Barack Obama Jr.

Obama's book says Obama Snr left his family in Hawaii after winning a scholarship to study in Harvard when his son was two years old.

The marriage later broke up after Anna's father opposed it, according to Mama Sarah.

"Anna's father was furious about the marriage and threatened to have Obama Snr expelled from the university. Our son sent us letters, pleading that we intervene to save the marriage," remembers Sarah."

And just to correct the details, Obama returned to the US in 1971. A year later, his mother divorced Lolo and returned to Hawaii with Maya. After grad school in Hawaii, she returned to Indonesia in 1975. According to one story, Barry was offered the choice of remaining in Hawaii and attending high school there, or going to Indonesia. He chose to stay. Maya, who would have been 5 years old, went back to Indonesia, but returned to Hawaii to attend high school.

Do you now see the value of providing sources when making statements like that? Scott Inuoe recently received a thank you note from zero (so he says), for sending him an image of the two of them at school in Hawaii around Christmas 1969:

And Madelyn minded both children, zero and Maya, they did their homework while waiting for her at the Bank.

...Current and former Bank of Hawaii employees remember young Obama and Soetoro-Ng sitting inside the bank after school, doing their homework while they waited for Dunham to get off work.

Interesting that in many official documents Barack is named b h Obama II. The second - not junior as would be customary.

What can I say? It wasn't the Post-Standard, but the Herald-Journal. It wasn't Fort Drummond (should have read Drum), but the Syracuse Army Air Base. Bad info and you still managed to find it, LOL!

I don't trust that article. Sounds like Mooney-Kirk herself was in SYRACUSE.

Obama’s birth name was other than Obama. That’s why all his early records are missing.

That part actually may be true. The rest of it is pretty loopy.

The Dunhams weren't rich people. I doubt they had the money to fly someone halfway around the world for some pointless cockamamie plot.

What did they do? Put an ad in the Nairobi newspaper?

If they had the money for a plot like that, were they so strapped for cash that they needed the plot to pay for Barry's schooling?

It is unreal isn’t it? I found it accidentally. I like to watch scifi shows and mysteries of all kind interest me because I’m a puzzle person. I was looking at a different video and that one was showing in the drop box on the side. Out of curiosity I clicked on it. The second part is even worse, I was wearing headphones and I could hear the sound start cycling through like it does at the beginning of some of my sublimal self-help CDs. From Ann Dunham's perspective, I can imagine that she thought that sending young Barry back to live with her parents where he could attend American schools, while she stayed in Indonesia with her husband, job, and young daughter to be the best option all around.

An Abortion would have caused her a lot less “hassle”, because it's quite obvious to anyone who's done the research on Ann and her relationship with Obama Jr that Ann had little if ANY Maternal Attachment to her first-born child. Here's the dedication from her dissertation:

Of course Obama Jr "seldom complained"; Ann was rarely around to hear any complaints back in Hawaii, as she was almost ALWAYS "in the field" in Indonesia & other countries to which she traveled.

Ann separated from Lolo in 1974.
And yet, BACK to Indonesia she went for nearly the rest of her pathetic life, until dying in 1995.

Nobody forced her.
She easily could have stayed in Hawaii, brought Maya to the Land of Opportunity, and gotten a job with her mother or at the University of Hawaii with her friend Alice — but Ann but CHOSE NOT to, as she felt neither the Motherly-drive nor Obligation to raise her First-Born Child herself.

WHO was it there at Obama's high school graduation, perhaps the most IMPORTANT event in Obama's life up to that point in 1979?
