“He was a rogue and a brute. But like TR, he was a patriot thru and thru despite his wild hairs”

I have to disagree with you. Jackson was corrupt, just like Obama...looking out for his $$$$ special interests.

Yes, he fought the good fight at Horseshoe Bend/1812 war.
But kind of like McCain being elevated to where he is because of being a ‘war hero’. BTW, The Ridge Cherokees fought beside Jackson in that war, saved his life. After the war, he still took their land.

Yes, but taking Indian land is not something exclusive to Jackson, by any means. Bear in mind the entire continent had indians from coast to coast at one time.

Also, Jackson did not just shine at Horseshoe Bend, he defeated the brits at NO in one of the most astounding US military campaigns ever. Him leading the charge.

And his heroics against the spanish and the seminoles is also legendary. He was more Patton than McCain, by a long shot. McCain’s claim to fame is as a POW, not a warrior.

And Teddy Roosevelt was just another Big Government Progressive. He, along with Franklin and Woodrow Wilson, was responsible for major growth in illicit government power. I USED to think him a hero; the reality is, he was pond scum, pure and simple.
