Politicians Playing 'the God Card' on Oil, Energy, and Carbon Caps
Conservative Examiner ^ | 5/14/2010 | Anthony G. Martin

In pushing the latest attempt by liberals and RINOS (Republicans in Name Only) in Congress to get a 'cap and trade' energy bill and other legislation passed, politicians in Washington have pulled out 'the God card.'

House speaker Nancy Pelosi, for example, stated that in her conversations with Catholic priests she said, 'I need you to speak from the pulpit about this issue. There are people in the pew who do not support the bill. And they need to know that is a manifestation of our living out the Gospel.'

And then, Senator John Kerry, D-Massachusetts, in announcing the new 'energy bill' (which is the same old cap and trade energy tax plan), stated that 'we have a broad coalition of faith-based groups that support this measure.'

Thus, the Left is doing the very thing it has decried for decades--blurring the lines between religion and politics. God has now been invoked by Leftwing extremists to get a myriad of legislation approved--from Marxist healthcare to immigration reform to environmental restrictions.

I thought there was supposed to be a “wall” between church and state?
Hurry! Pull their tax exemptions!

Nancy needs to remember the separation between church and state that her side has always pushed so hard. Hopefully the Bishops laughed over lunch at what she had to say.

I'm surprised that she wasn't afraid that she'd burst into flames if she entered a church. Satan is only slightly less believable than her.

Someone with that many lies and vile evil that she lives by is lucky that her tongue didn't distort on her like Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar.

God would NOT condone the lies of Al “several million degrees” Gore and his pagan Earth-worshipping psuedo-science/religion.

I'm ashamed of Rick Warren, who up until now, seemed like a Godly man. To support the lies of the global warmongers is a worse deal than Esau trading away his birthright!
Rick Warren traded his soul to make the Leftist Liars happy.
I wound if he got 30 carbon credits in exchange for promoting the lie of AGW?
