All money rightfully belongs to the government. And union corporations.

“The most immoral of all taxes is the Death Tax.”

That is perfectly silly. The inheritance or death tax, if you prefer that name, is the least objectionable tax.

After you lower my income tax, sales tax, and property tax so I can accomplish what I want to in this life, I will gladly agree to give a percentage of what is left to the government when I die. My children I have given a very good education, and they can earn their own fortunes.

I think that the inheritance tax should have a deductible of $5,000,000 indexed to inflation, and the maximum rate should be no more than the maximum income tax rate. And then lets drop this subject. It is a serious vote loser for conservatives.

The problem isn’t the money in pop’s checking account. Thats not really a problem. The problem is the family business, the family farm. In too many cases the assets have to be sold off to pay the inheritance tax.

You are already paying income tax on any income. You shouldn’t have to get hit with another tax on an asset that isn’t liquid.

“Marxist/ socialists just can’t stand private property rights.”

Are you also opposed to the tax on my home and my income and what I buy? Or are you a communist too?

Stop the inane sloganeering. There will be taxes. It’s just a question of how much and on what.

Not sloganeering. They have been boiling the frog for years, incrementally increasing government redistribution and taxes. The overall taxation level in this country has been a level that is essentially confiscatory for quite some time. That deprives the citizens of private property rights and erodes freedom. The Founding Fathers were concerned about that very thing , not just in seizure of property, but through heavy taxation.

Does it not seem confiscatory to have to work into May to pay your tax bill? It does to me. Sure government needs taxes to run, but NOT to run a welfare state. You seem to be like one of Obama’s leftists “patriots” who just loves to pay a heavy tax load - thank you sir, may I have another.

I think our Friends on FR can judge quite easily about whether you or I have the most Marxist blood running in their veins.
