I heard a guy on the radio this morning say that positions on this bill broke into 3 camps:
1) Republicans who are just going to say No to anything without considering whether it would help the country or not.
2) Pragmatic people who will seek compromise and help in some ways and hurt in other ways as they do not really root out the real problems (Chris Dodd was in this well-meaning but too soft group).
3) Smart people who understand the problem thoroughly and who are trying to really do the right thing and fix the system (Socialist Bernie Sanders was in this group).

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are literal creatures of government regulation and the only reason to drill 50 miles out to sea and a mile deep is the government regulations have limited access to more economically viable sites .

Deregulation! what deregulation? Get specific, what deregulation is he talking about, name it. There is no deregulation, government is a monster growing like the blob, there has been no deregulation since the Reagan administration. I challenge anyone to name for me what has been deregulated!
