Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow is a leading advocate of reinstating the free speech destroying “Fairness Doctrine” for talk radio. “Whether it’s called the Fairness Standard, whether it’s called something else,” she told journalist Bill Press, “I absolutely think it’s time to be bringing accountability to the airwaves.”
Where did the woman get such totalitarian attitudes? Here’s a possible answer.

The airwaves already have accountability.
It’s called the free market.
If there was no market for talk radio as it exists today, it would wither on the vine and the talk radio stations would turn to more lucrative programming.
As usual, the communists in our government want to regulate an industry when the free market doesn’t take it where the commies want it to go.
In Russia, during the height of Soviet communism, the GUM, or Government Store in Red Square, was a vast edifice where you could purchase nothing but boots and shovels one month, and nothing but raincoats and umbrellas the next month.
Ah, the wonders of central planning.
Today, the GUM has been turned over to the free market and has become a modern shopping mall with a panoply of major and minor store franchises as well as privately owned shops. The array of available merchandise is as varied as you will find in any western shopping mall and includes names that you would recognize, e.g. JC Penney, The Gap, Sears, and many others.
THAT’s the free market.

She does not desire a “free market”, nor do her socialist pals: they want control - control over what you hear, read, say, think, and choose to buy. Of course, they never admit as much, and will swear and scream that you are lying... right up until the moment that they take away your rights - at which point, the new regime will be enforced, “for your own good” of course and, if necessary: at the point of a gun.
