Theres just something inherently icky about this commercial. Or perhaps its just a commentary on the French society. Its a gay-love moment interrupted by a father-son moment made possible by the folks at McDonalds.
Im not up on my French culture, so I cant determine if McDonalds is trying to be provocative or if theyre really trying to win over the gay hamburger-eating demographic. Nonetheless, there is just something that deep down really troubles me.
The TV spot is called Come as you are, but if hes hiding something from his father, is he really coming as he is? Does this ad somehow encourage homosexuality? Probably not. I mean, if you see a dude about to chomp on some McDonalds fries but has a thing for dudes he is hiding and thats your excuse for being gay you were probably gay anyway.
My advice to McDonalds is probably to not run this ad in the United States because dont think for a moment that creepy Burger King king that appears in their commercials would take the opportunity to poke fun.
My takeaway any craving I ever had for Chicken McNuggets has vanished.

I thought they prefered hot dogs.
And then the dad found out and went home and blew his head off.
the end.
Are they introducing a new McFeces burger?
I can’t youtube at the office. But I did see a cartoon ad on the internet once which showed the travels of a sperm up and on its journey to the egg. But after a lengthy travel, it gets confused and can’t figure out where to go next.
Then a slogan for a gay pride fest comes up.
EWWWWWW.
Europe is sick.
I dunno, if the kid was really a French student, shouldn’t he have up-ended the tray and stomped out swearing and lit a car on fire or something?

I love the “you’re sooo uncool dad” look the little pissant gives him when the Dad says, “I was quite the ladies man...”
AWWWWWWW

I thought he was going to order a Royale With Cheese.

Europe isn’t even meeting it’s replacement rate. They better work on their Halal menu if they expect to have any future. Maybe they can make something similar for their new Muslim customers. Dad meets son. Son shows off picture of his new girl in head to foot burqa. Father remarks how she looks just like Mom, and the entire place explodes because the kid forgot to disarm his class project in his backpack from the madrassa. The ad could be called “Go as you are”.
Good grief, it's no wonder the EU is such a mess!
Not that I'm a homophobe or anything, but could we please just stop targeting/inflicting all these "special interest" ads/policies on everyone else who just wants to live whatever nice life they've managed to make for themselves, uninterrupted by "your government at work", helping you to live a "better life"?!
SHEESH!!

Sad but true.
“Big Macs for gays”?
I’m flattered, but I don’t swing that way.....

Better yet, if the poster had done a simple search, he would have found the original thread, and could have posted over there. But it’s more fun to spam FR with more and more threads on the same subject.
