In-N-Out Burger heads to Dallas
Orange County Register ^ | 05-27-10 01:30 PM | Unknown

Appropriately revered west coast burger chain In-N-Out Burger is making an unprecedented expansion into Dallas, Texas.

The chain has infamously not expanded beyond the Western states of California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah, as In-N-Out trucks in its meat from a central facility and has resisted reorganizing that structure in order to accomodate farther reaching locations (for a visual explanation of the process, see this graphic at the Orange County Register).

Man this brings back memories. I remember when I was living in Las Vegas, I’d go eat at this In-N-Out Burger place down the block from my work at least once a week.

I have tried and tried to fall in love with In-and-Out, but I just don’t like their food. Every time I say, “Maybe this time I will like it.” With the exception of their sauce (kind of a 1000 Island dressing), I doubt I’ll ever go back.

Currently, we’re on a big Chick-fil-A kick.

>>Dang, ya just had to go and remind me. I really miss Tommy’s and Fatburger.<<

I have one of each a few blocks from home (and an In-n-Out). The wife says when we move to Dallas she will miss the convenience more than anythning.

Then I show her the sales tax (9.5%) on our last purchase of anything and I think the feeling passes quickly.

Thank you for pointing to the mobile version of the article. The ads on the full version of the article are repulsive.

In-N-Out is awesome. Every time I have gone there it is rocking with customers, and rocking with young and bright people who work there. I’m talking at least 20 employees who are, to a man, working hard and happy. They get paid well, but they work hard, and they all speak English and all know how to speak to a customer. Not to mention, the Double-Double with extra grilled onions.... MMMMMMmmmmmMMMMM!

Braums and In and Out seem to be a lot alike in one respect. A desire to exercise quality control. Everytime I pass through Texas/Oklahoma/Arkansas I make it a point to eat at Braums.

Sadly the Observer said Garland was the first, most likely site. Garland?

When my wife and I first heard the news, we said the same thing. Garland?

Whoever the heck is doing their site surveys oughta be fired.

If it makes you feel any better, I just had BBQ from the one place in Richmond that has terrible BBQ (Bill’s in Midlothian) — dry and tasteless.

" I can give up Tommy’s burgers (but just barely)."

Tommy's is for girls. Real men eat at Oki-Dog at least twice a week!

Right there with Sonic and Scotty P’s already. Sonic is kind of in the middle and SP’s is on the far west side near 78. Sonic is a decent chain. Scotty P’s is family-owned and ROCKs, imho.
I like In-n-Out, too. Hope they put it on the far east side of the mall for balance.

Sucks that they aren’t considering San Antonio - oh well, will have to settle for Whataburger, Culvers, Bobby J’s, and Chris Madrids.

Well, I almost never get down to Midlothian, so I’ll probably never have the honor of being disappointed with Bill’s BBQ.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been in the financial condition to widely sample the various restaurants in North Texas since I’ve been here. I’m working on changing that, though.

Gag.. With places in Dallas like Jucy’s, Twisted Root, Jakes, and Chips, why would anyone choose some fast food joint?

Not all of us have a pocket that can easily handle the prices of some of the better joints. Hell, it costs me $30 just to feed the family at McDonald's.

Tommy burgers....but only the original one on Beverly and Rampart...all of the franchise ones are worthless.

You know what you're talking about, friend. I can still remember the Japanese dude they had there in the mid-seventies who flipped burgers like a Kung-Fu artist.

Best damn burgers I ever ate.

in and out burgers are over-rated.

however, men like the name.

I never heard of them before I say a lesbian wearing an In-N-Out Burger T-shirt.
