Watch these two.
Forget the tempo. Listen to the dissonant thirds, the double melody line (as opposed to melody/harmony) and the stage presentation (two on a single mic.)
But perhaps I’m being too esoteric.
It’s a gross injustice that Jackson Browne is still sucking air while Laura Nyro and Krista Paffgen are gone.
Speaking of which, here are what I consider two great pieces of music:

(A totally original cover of the Morrison classic!)
.....and if you don’t agree, well, it’s always a pleasure talking to you!
while Laura Nyro and Krista Paffgen are gone
I've read about the second woman, I think, but never heard her; Nyro I found a little overblown, but that's not even a criticism, more an observation. A great songwriter. I have a couple of her albums in storage, I should get some of her on CD--thanks for the reminder. I'm going through a big 70's light rock thing lately--just picked up the latest J.D. Southern and it's excellent.
Krista Paffgen *was* Nico.
Well then i guess I DID hear her stuff. :P
