If someone prays about a mission and get an answer from God saying He will protect them, then He will, plain and simple.

So are you saying, empirically, that the case of the missionaries I posted, plus the countless other missionaries that have lost their lives over the years - didn't pray for protection?

ARe you forgetting that Jesus prayed to have "this cup" passed from him? (But He knew God's contract with us a bit better - and added the caveat "They Will be done."

I STILL suspicion you may not have the last word on what God's will is - I notice you didn't offer an explanation on why so many missionaries have been killed - even tho they surely must pray for protection ad do their sponsoring churches.

That answers your question right there. Gods will. Sometimes people ignore Gods will. All those missionaries that were killed? Maybe they ignored Gods will. The Sunderlands said they prayed about it and had faith that it was ok to do this. Maybe God caused the failure and sent help in order to tell the Sunderlands that it wasn't meant to be. Who knows. The Lord works in mysterious ways. And things don't always work out the way we think it should. Maybe God didn't want them to do this for naught.
