He must do something. Call for tourism. Tell the people what he’ll make BP do. Anything.
Doing this this way helps point the blame away from him.
So the American people can’t think about him and his Administrations ineptitude and mis-handling of this catastrophe.

So I take it that he and the wookie have reserved the top floor of a casino in Biloxi for a week?
You know, for one of those feel-good volunteer experiences, teaching the kids how to clean pelicans.

Yeah, come see the tarballs...and the dead and dying fish and waterfowl.

There are large numbers of summer visitors in the Gulf Beach area. The beaches are open for the most part. Fishing tourism is of course out for awhile. This weekend there is a huge hot air balloon festival. Mobile hosts a multi-day Jazz fest that attract 10’s of thousands. The local amphitheater has a full slate of top name musical stars. There are civil war sites, museums, the navy air museum in Pensacola is awesome.
The fishing charters and scuba dive shops are really hurting but restaurants and area summer attractions are still hiring.
The worst part is this was the year of recovery after Katrina and Ivan hurricanes.
This is still the vacation destination of families in Al, Miss, LA, TN, and fl.

Have you ever gone in the water along the Mississippi gulf, Boloxi, Gulfport etc? You have to go out hundreds of yards before you get the water up to your waist.

If I made the comment on this idiocy that I intended to...
Mr. Robinson would very reasonably ban me from FR.
So I’ll go away and stew for a while.

everyone around the country to take a vacation trip to the Gulf Excepting elitist liberals of course who only vacation abroad or, in a really tough economy, on the Cape.

The best beaches in the country are from Pensacola to Panama City Beach, best in the country......at least they were. It’s a shame they don’t deserve this.

I wish I could really say what I think about this POS but I don’t want the FBI knocking on my door.
I don’t want anything bad to happen to him. Even if he were (miracles of miracles!) to resign he wouldn’t go quietly into the night. He will cause just as much if not more trouble once he is out of office.
I just wish that he had never been conceived.

No one deserves this. My daughter lives in Pensacola. The first time my wife and I came to visit, she thought she was seeing snow.
After Karina Fort Morgan road was 8-10 feet in white sand. Every bit was placed back on the beach. It is against the law here to take and beach sand. If you get a dredging permit in the bay, the state has first rights to all the sand.
I have run out of tears for what is being done and the pathetic response from the feds that has kept us from even helping ourselves. Volunteers have been hindered in every bureaucratic way possible from mandatory classes that are impossible to attend to denying outside help from nations that have volunteered the sweeps and cleaning equipment we could be using.

I have a married sister and brother-in-law who live in Navarre, FL, in the Panhandle. This is their retirement home and the Panhandle is home to both military and retired military. This is a kick to their butts. IMHO, this is a COMPLETE SYSTEMATIC FAILURE.

We're in agreement with you there.....as a couple who've been to beaches from California, Hawaii, to Australia. Loved Destin during our innaugural trip there last summer.

Well, it was anyway.
I convinced my wife to let us move out of the ‘08 by selling her on the fact that we’d be able to have a boathouse in the back and that we’d be able to entertain people coming in from fishing.
That looks to be dead now and honestly, I can’t see why I’d wanna stay here if we won’t be able to fish and go out on the water, especially considering the ghetto you have to drive through to get here.
To: AzaleaCity5691

The sand is so good and fine that it’s not even warm when walking on it.
