Glenn Beck has beseeched us not to compare him to McCarthy. He accused Anthony Weiner of using Joe McCarthy “tactics” when Weiner launched his unsuccessful and short lived smear campaign against Beck’s sponsor, Goldline.
Beck, like too many commentators who ought to know better, has long spewed the entirely false narrative about Senator Joe McCarthy. Until his recent McCarthy Awakening.
Liberals have been embarrassing themselves for decades with this McCarthy business. Point out an unsavory association, and they squeal like stuck pigs about the scourge of McCarthyism. In the mind of the liberal, Senator McCarthy was a deranged conservative finding imaginary communists under every rock and creating the fiction of the Red Menace. Note: they have the same attitude today about radical Islam.

First off, let me state that I don’t have much knowledge of Sen. McCarthy. It seems to me, however, that he was right. The left coast is still infested with communists, and they infect their kids with it too, on purpose. They are zealots, and government is their religion.
Yeah, Glenn takes a while sometimes. Maybe he’ll come around on “commander zero’s” natural born status.
One only needs to skim the action items in the Communist Manifesto, and overlay it on our history for the last 50 years, to see that Joe McCarthy was right.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could finally correct the definition of “McCarthyism” to be “a patriotic concern for one’s country”?
A real hero, who by the way was telling the truth (according to former Soviet and FBI records), was made out as a bad guy, by those that oh by the way, were the bad guys.

If you read the entire article, McCarthy had no interest in left coast celbutards—that’s the lie you learned in tax payer funded indoctrination centers.
McCarthy’s only interest was in communist operatives in the goverment that had infiltrated after WWII. FDR himself knew about it—he once said he didn’t care some of his best friends were commies.
It was the House committee that questioned celebtards. McCarthy was a senator.
I have to admit I was ignorant too. The funny thing is I never fell for the lie that McCarthy was on a wild witch hunt blaming innocent people. My gut told me McCarthy was a good man being destroyed, now I'm learning the facts that back up what my gut was telling me. So I bought the book "Blacklisted by History", and I'll probably buy several more on the subject.
Actually, death is their religion. Government is merely the instrument of their celebration.

When I saw this PBS production that admitted McCarthy was right...
there were scads of Communist infiltrators in the US guvmint
(although PBS claimed McCarthy wasn’t always accurate in identifying
the miscreants)...
I about had a heart attack.
One only needs to read what came out after the fall of the Soviet Union about who was doing what in our government to know that McCarthy was right. Starting with Alger Hiss and working on down. And now they’ve apparently taken over the White House, when formerly they were just “advisors” and lower level functionaries.
PBS admittted it? Holy subversive!
McC was only right about 98%.

Spot on, Lydia. As well as the slow but certain take over of “mainstream” media and public education. And the suppression of individual freedom and responsibility and the promotion of group-think.
But there’s still no shortage of starry-eyed, would-be young communists who say “it just hasn’t been done right yet”.
Tell that to the millions who have died as a direct result of this great social experiment.
I didn’t have this information. As I try to remember my history classes, there was very little to no information on McCarthy. Seems like one of those things that is not taught.
I wonder what Senator Mccarthy would think of the current administration...

In that period Stalin started a holocaust against russian jews. The pretext was that his jewish doctors were out to kill him.
Canny American communists saw the McCarthy hearing as russian style show trials—which were considered to be a pretext to a purge. So they initiated blood libel against american conservatives via McCarthy—accusing them of attempting to do to american jews what Stalin was about to do russian jews.
That was never in the cards. But the blood libel stuck
Now if he could only perform an Awakening on that consumate idiot and closet socialist/fascist populist clown, Bill O'Reilly, I would really consider Glenn a miracle worker.

McCarthy would have been an American hero but for his self-destructive abuse of alcohol. But more than that- he was right. All that happened was that it became politically incorrect to call someone a communist- even if he was. And neither DC NOR McCarthy “blacklisted” the idiots in Hollyweird- the STUDIOS did that. They knew Americans hated communists. Think it still doesn’t work? Do you know anyone who’s been to a Sean Penn movie lately?
As to the HUAC, they rooted out and fired more than 2000 communist operatives in the government. It’s time to re-form this commission. Unfortunately, such a committee would EMPTY the DC agencies.

I’ve always wondered if McCarthy’s drinking was a chicken/egg thing—considering the abuse he suffered for trying to protect America—is it possible that operatives knew his weakness & exploited it, driving him to an early death?

As a follow-up I recommend "In Denial: Historians, Communism & Espionage" by Haynes and Klehr. It explains how Marxist "historians," who control the field, have revised, distorted and sugar-coated the truth about American Communism. They have been greatly aided in this task by unionized Marxist public school teachers and Hollywood.
"Witness" by Whittaker Chambers is essential reading for conservatives. Those three books are absolutely fundamental to understanding and fighting back against the totalitarianism which is arriving in America.
Coulter’s book treason really opened my eyes-especially on the “have you no decency sir?” quote.
If you study that single famous line and understand its true context...the entire myth around McCarthy begins to unwind.

Funny, after being here on FR for so long, and seeing the CP Goals of 1963 here for YEARS, i did have to chuckle.
But I’m glad he’s got his bullhorn going on this, even if we all were hip to it years ago.
I do think he’s been listening in on our office conversations - I’ve been saying for a while that the communists made it this far because they used Alinsky’s tactics of making fun of people who were concerned about communists (”Kill a Commie for mommy”; looking for commies under the bed). It’s been going on for years.
Even still, people who know the threat still look around a little before talking about it, to be sure no one overhears and make fun of them.

There was actually a lot of red infiltration during WWII as Russia was our so-called ally. Roosevelt and the State Department let in a lot of people who normally would not get a gov job under the pretext that they were helpful to the war effort. Naturally, a great many of them stayed on after the war.
