That’s what I don’t get about Chappaquiddick. The car was equipped with an airbag.
It was already inflated when the car went in the water.
That there was an airbag surprises me. I think that I remember reading that the car was a '67 Oldsmobile. From everything that I read, manufacturers didn't start introducing them to passenger cars until the 1970s, so a '67 seems a little early.
