TAMPA The largest manhunt in city history ended peacefully Friday night when the man suspected of fatally shooting two Tampa police officers surrendered.
Dontae Rashawn Morris, 24, turned himself in about 10:15 p.m. to face charges that he killed police officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab early Tuesday.
"I can't tell you how relieved the men and women of the Tampa Police Department are," police Chief Jane Castor said at 11:05 p.m. "Thank God he's behind bars right now."

I suspect the intermediary and recipient of the reward is the lawyer representing Dontae Rashawn Morris.
Used to be a State police detective around here that went after several cop killers. Tracked one down across the river in Indiana. Found every one he went after, but never managed to arrest one. They all qualified for a toe tag during the proceedings.
Too bad this piece of $hit did not resist.
It would have saved tax payers a bunch of money.
Now we have to feed this monster and give him a “fair trial” which will undoubtedly end with the death sentence.
He will then appeal it for the next ten years while we feed this low-life scumbag.
Wow! I’m truly amazed that he gave up without a fight.
Great news though!
In the old days Morris would have at least tripped down a flight of stairs.
100 years ago there’s a good chance they would have taken this scumbag and hanged him in the public square-and as much as it was a fitting punishment for what he did, it was also a visible caution in no uncertain terms, to his fellow scumbags that, if they didn’t want to have the same fate befall them, they might want to not get involved in similar shenanigans.
And here’s why that was wrong:
Gee, I can’t think of a reason........
We need more detectives like this.
Slight edit.
THe shooter was wnted for 3 prior killings.
Now he has killed 5.
Samn glad I don’t live in FL, the place is starting to sound like Dodge City....
It’s time to destroy this trash.
Thank you for the picture but you only confirmed what I already knew.
