Obama awards $2B for solar power, hails new jobs

WASHINGTON – The government is handing out nearly $2 billion for new solar plants that President Barack Obama says will create thousands of jobs and increase the use of renewable energy sources.

Obama announced the initiative in his weekly radio and online address Saturday, saying the money is part of his plan to bring new industries to the U.S.

The thing that immediately leaps to the front of one's mind- if this is such a great investment, why is the government investing as opposed to private capital investing in it?

Soros is invested in Abound, the COlorado (swing state) company, which is receiving $400 mm of the $2 bn pledged by 0bama.

The $1.6 Bn amount is going to a Spanish company. So, the US company is a Soros/Goricle quid pro quo, and includes paying for how many jobs? While the lion’s share of the money goes to Spain.

Good. 2 billion “creates” thousands of jobs. So 2 trillion would “create” millions of jobs. How about 10 trillion to “create” 5 million jobs. Or 20 trillion to “create” 10 million jobs. Only a liberal wouldn’t see anything wrong with that reasoning.
