The 14th Amendment was created insure that freed slaves were not denied access to their now full rights.

The USA is only one of about 34 countries that grant citizenship based on geography.

I hear that the parents also use the automatically granted SS card to gain employment. If the kid is a girl, mommy gets a job, a boy, then daddy. They steal their own kid’s identity.

Illegal Aliens in the United States are considered to be “under the jurisdiction” of the United States, as well as the state. county/parish and city that they occupy.

Therefore, when an Illegal Alien commits a crime in the United States and is apprehended, he is either deported under the authority of the federal government or prosecuted by an officer of a federal, country/parish or city court.

In addition, every person in the United States, here legally or not, citizen or non citizen is protected by the Bill of Rights.

And I am not quite sure where you guys came under the impression that every Illegal Alien somehow deserves Diplomatic Immunity and thus is not under the jurisdiction of the United States and the state where they reside.

As for me, I will adhere to the principles of Strict Constructionism and not try to twist the words of our Framers.

Negative. That is another wild eyed, moonbat "social justice" determination by our Super Legislature called the Supreme Court.

So you think they cannot be arrested and prisoned for violating US Law?

Oh, I see, you advocate granting Diplomatic Immunity to all foreign nationals in the United States?

That would indeed be interesting and as a dual citizen I could simply ignore all federal, state and local laws.

I like the way you think!

When an illegal waddles across the border and pops an infant, said infant should not be a US citizen.

I don't disagree, but that's not what the Constitution says.

I don't believe they envisioned that illegals would be wadding across the border having children.

We can fix the Constitution.

My point is that a kid popped by an illegal is not “subject to the jurisdication” of the US, despite what the social justice jerks on Scotus say. Their erroneous interpretation has been the source of untold misery for border states.

I disagree. What laws are they exempt from?

Amendment 14 shows the danger of a written Constitution. When a mistake is made in the wording, it is almost impossible to correct.

There was no wording problem. Many states denied citizenship to children born in American to slave parents who were not citizens. The Constitution was amended to prevent this abuse.

On January 16, 1919 the 18th Amendment prohibiting the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors within the the United States was ratified having been approved by 36 states.

On December 5, 1933, the ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment repealed the Eighteenth Amendment.

You have it backwards. You show me where in the legislative, constitutional debates around the 14th Amendement that supports your position.

Prove to me that Congress and the states intended to grant citizenship to the children of illegals.

Until you do, the politically correct interpretation by Scotus is just that, and as such is unanchored by the historical record or the Constitution.

There's a popular tavern up the street which has "Since 1933" prominently displayed as part of its signage. :)

Thanks for helping us remember that the Constitution can also be amended to "back out of" mistakes such as this.

“When an illegal waddles across the border and pops an infant, said infant should not be a US citizen.”

Typically, we go by what the Constitution actually says, not what you believe it should say.

I knew you could not cite historic references to your position. They don’t exist.

I suggest you re-read Plyler v. Doe, 457 U.S. 202 (1982).

I don't think that's necessary. Lets just build a 40 foot wall with a moat, alligators, barbed wire fence, cameras and keep the illegals out to begin with.

I’m a legal American citizen and I must show my ID when:

1. Pulled over by the police.

2. Making purchases on my department store credit card.

3. When I show up for a doctor’s appointment.

4. When filling out a credit card or loan application.

5 When applying for or renewing a driver’s license or passport.

6. When applying for any kind of insurance.

7. When filling out college applications.

8. When donating blood.

9. When obtaining certain prescription drugs.

10. When making some debit purchases, especially if I’m out of state.

11. When collecting a boarding pass for airline or train travel .........................

All true plus I could probably add more. We are being discriminated against.
