One of the most powerful lobbies, the pharmaceutical drugs lobby, when it supports those running for public office there is one politico they treasure the most: USA Senate Majority head, Harry Reid, (D/NV).
Also this USA Senator is the most targeted by the GOP for defeat come this November, as Sharon Angle is Senator Reids challenger.
But the pharmaceutical drugs lobby is pouring support to Sen. Reid, via a group, which is really a political action committee or a PAC set up by the pharmaceutical drug lobby called Nevada Families.

These big corporations are as bad as the industralists who got into bed with Hitler.
Either people are easily manipulated by what they see on TV or the vast majority of people, in general, are sheep. My point is that if having large sums of money - from pharmaceuticals, etc.) for and to place ads on TV dictates whether a candidates wins an election, then the system is itself is fraked, along with those people who are gullible enough to take those ads verbatum. Fact checking should be the norm for all of us by now, not taking ads as fact.
Anyhow, personally, no matter the amount of money Reid has available to spend, his track racord alone should keep his arse from being reelected.....ugh, unless people are simply stuck on stupid and gullible.
Oh please...I’ve been in the pharma business for over thirty years. ALL major corps have PACs and play BOTH sides of the aisle. It’s foolish NOT to assure that stupid laws don’t get passed. Drug companies spend hundreds of millions on new drug entities and maybe 1 in 10 gets to the market.
Just imagine where we’d be without the modern therapeutic drug industry...no chemo therapy for cancer for instance, anti-inflammatory drugs, clot-busters for strokes, therapeutic proteins for blood problems and cancers...
G!
PS: I am NOT a fan of Dirty Harry...he needs to dry up and blow away...LOL!
You sully the memory of an iconic figure when you call him “Dirty Harry” - call him Dingy Harry instead ;-)
Industrialists were not in bed with Hitler.
They were his hostages. Their choices were either a) cooperate or b) lose everything.
Ludwig von Mises meticulously recorded the process of socialist suborning of industry in Germany, eg in “Omnipotent Government: The Rise of the Total State and Total War”.
Worth looking up his other works at the von Mises institute.
