I am a black tea party patriot faced with a serious problem concerning my 83-year-old father. Dad is an extraordinary man whose life epitomizes the greatness of America.
In the '50s, married with a wife and three kids and employed as a laborer, Dad was among the first blacks to break the color barrier into the Baltimore Fire Dept. The white firefighters treated Dad like scum and boldly displayed their displeasure with having an "n" in their firehouse.
Dad was the young associate pastor of a storefront church. He treated his "haters" with love and strove to be the best Christian and firefighter he could be. Dad won "Firefighter of the Year" two times and eventually the respect and admiration of his white fellow firefighters. A white firefighter who once threatened to punch Dad in his "black nose" risked his life by going back into a burning building to save Dad. The two firefighters became lifelong friends.

One of my ultra-conservative Christian friends told me that he believes it is G_d’s will that Slobama is the president. He said G_d runs everything for a reason. G_d help us then.
It is nothing short of bizarre that black Americans (and others) support Obama because of his race despite his dishonesty, his own personal racism toward others, muslim leanings (if not muslim faith), and hatred of this country.
Considering that black Americans are themselves shocked by such devotion, how could Obama know in advance that he would gain such blind support?
During the campaign I was almost certain that Obama was using various hypnotic techniques (like NLP) but any advantage gained by that should have worn off by now...yet many of his "zombie-like" supporters have not wavered.
I am still deeply perplexed!
I'm not. Democrats have always gotten 90% or more support from blacks regardless of their race.
The son can't change the father in this case because the father's conviction is based on emotion and nothing else. My mother-in-law is like that. She's over ninety. I can talk to her about any issue and she is a conservative Republican. I doubt she has ever voted Republican and think she never will.
There are other things that also drive a thinker crazy. The bottom line is the old man won't change. I'd be tempted to avoid politics in his home although feel free to try to sway any of the masses the outside his home.
Allowing a rift with the old man at this late stage won't change anything. Ther will just be a rift.
Perhaps *Love letters to Lloyd’s Dad* expressing admiration for the wonderful son he raised might be the answer.
I was unaware that my son’s best hunting buddy was black until he showed me a photo. Both Southern boys....!!

Those who blindly support Obama such as Lloyd Marcus' father are not doing so because he is a Democrat.
They are doing so because of his skin color...and at that they are allowing his skin color to blind them to all of his baseness and dishonesty.
Your friend is correct.
Republicans will get 70% black voter support for their black candidate, regardless of ideology.

It's not hard to understand. They are no different than any other voting block of DemonRATs.
Take any group of like individuals. The group doesn't have to be linked by race, it could be economic status, the type of work they do, any common factors will do.
It's fairly easy to convince them that some other group has it better than they do. From there, it's a fairly easy task to get them convinced that it's the other groups fault that they are “disadvantaged”, because it goes against human nature to examine ourselves for weaknesses and faults.
Once the animosity is created towards the “other” group, you can buy off their loyalty cheaply, using other peoples money, with a few “social programs” that do nothing for them and only make them more dependent on handouts. Which flow from DemonRATs only, of course.

His father only sees his color and nothing else. Sadly there are lots of Blacks who see Conservatism as racist from the brainwashing of the media.

And the funny thing is that the whites and Jews to whom they direct their anger had nothing to do with the discrimination which sparked their anger in the first place.
This anger is nothing more than misdirected rage fueled by the likes of Jeremiah Wright. It's the moral equivalent of saying "I hate you because your name is Johnson...and a man named Johnson once discriminated against me (yes, I realize you are not related, but I still hate you)."
And, yes, given that Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth (and then some) on every issue, one has to carefully read between the lines to determine where he stands on any issue.
And, yes, when one parses all that Obama has said and compares that with his actions, it is profoundly obvious that Obama is every bit as rage-filled toward whites, jews, and Europeans as his "mentor" Jeremiah.
