First, with MANY THANKS to both WCVBtv and YouTube.
A cat that was found and is now safe, by rescuers who are calling Grandma Moses, is at the present time doing much, much better as of yesterday, Friday, but only just one day earlier, and to the people who saved her life, I say GOD BLESS, she was found in a pet-carrier floating along the banks of the Charles River in the Boston, MA area.

PING this cat in the news story over to you! :)=^..^=
My faith in humans is quickly diminishing, however is is good to see there are still some people who have a heart. Just wish there was no need to have to perform animal rescues...
A happy ending for GRandma Moses and on CATURDAY!
It never ceases to amaze me the lengths some people go to torture and inflict misery onto a domesticated animal.
Thanks first and foremost to God for people who rescued this cat.
Secondly, Thank you to the rescuers for their kind hearts and souls. They WILL be rewarded.
Don’t ever, I repeat ever suggest on one of these links that a sharpshooter is more humane to the animal than letting it suffer for hours while humans are put in danger performing a rescue. Massive flaming tends to occur.
Don’t ask me how I know. I just know.
Cheers!
I would never suggest that anyway:)
I am quite sure you have good reasons, but for me it would only be a option under extreme stress. I probably would be more apt to miss and hit the offender accidentally on purpose...lol
The thread in question was two stray dogs on an ice flow. Humans were put in danger to rescue them, they froze and shivered for hours and one drowned.
Sorry, I stand by my previous argument. It would be far more humane to rapidly dispatch the ANIMAL than to allow it to suffer for hours to possibly rescue it.
HUMANS-Completely different story. Work at it from all possible angles.
Hoe much did this sh!tty animal resccue cost the taxpayers in Boston. I would be wicked pissed!
It cost taxpayers nothing.
A kayaker found the cat and brought it to he MSPCA-Angell shelter in Boston, which is “a private, non-profit organization. We do not receive any government funding nor are we funded or operated by any national humane organization. The MSPCA-Angell relies solely on the support and contributions of individuals who care about animals.”
Thank-you for the PING and the update. :)=^..^=

SO happy she was rescued!
Animal rights groups make me sick, take the money and effort that is shwaysted on animals and use it to help PEOPLE!!!!!!111
You’re very welcome.
Go jump in the river, troll.

Get well wishes.
My own take is that it was likely accidental, even if a negliget accident. Something along the lines of an ad I saw about a dog that was missing: “lost somewhere on Hwy-X, between Y & Z...” (two Oregon towns about 125 miles apart) because it went AWOL from the back of a pickup, without the driver/owner noticing. Still, it was sheer negligence.
I've also seen a tiedown break, and an airline crate with a 30-35 pound dog in it lift into the air in the back of my pickup, hitting the tailgate; it didn't go out, but had I not been watchful & hit the brakes, it may have, either then, or another mile or two down the road.
However, crates cost money & are resellable; sacks & rocks are free...and don't float, so I doubt someone wanting to off the cat would waste the crate also. I hope I'm right, and a tearful owner with a plausable story turns up.
Right now, as S&A points out, kitteh is fine, and kudos to the rescuers; the rest can wait for investigation results.
There are many, many organizations that help people.
What went on here was done by a very sick mind and the sad thing is that if an animal is abused, it is not long after that a person ends up as a subject for abuse or worse.
I’m pretty sure that you meant to respond to post #11.
What is your problem?
So you found out who did this to the animal? I have a hypothetical question for you Biggirl. Say you were driving a car at 50 mph down a street and in the street was a dog and a homeless man. You could swerve left and hit the dog or swerve right and hit the bum, but you had to hit one of them, which one would you hit?
For one thing, I do not have a car, another thing is, both need help.
It is good news like that ALWAYS make my day. :)=^..^=
Ok, you failed to answer the question. Also I didn’t say you were driving YOUR car I said you were driving A car. You have to run one over, which would it be?
What’s your problem little boy?
what is yours?
Of course I would choose to swerve away from the human..but I would rush the dog to the vet if I had to hit him to avoid the man.
Helping animals does not mean one loves them more than people for heavens sake.
PSALM 136:25
...And who gives food to every creature. His love endures forever.
PROVERBS 12:10
A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal
SO happy she was rescued!
ME TOO!
Given the choice of running over you or a dog, I’d run over you in a heartbeat, n00b.
You really want to play the scripture card? You took Psalm 136:25 out of context, it is referring to God providing for His creatures. Nice try.
Typical
You’ve been here all of 3 weeks and you’ve added so much to FR in that short time. /s
School’s out so you have a lot of free time to lecture Freepers on moral relativity, ethics, and interpretation of the Bible.
what is yours?

Well it appears my problem may be you. You seem to be harboring some deep hatred for animals and anger towards those of us who help them. Many of us here appreciate hearing some good news once in a while and this was a good-news story. Maybe you should direct all this anger towards the out-of-control government spending. We’d all be better served.
Ah..God cares for His creatures!
I said their efforts would be better directed to helping the homeless, starving, and dying people in America. Read what I write not what you think I write.
Batting zero on this thread, huh. Good riddance.
Allegedly...
Please, I don’t need a lecture from you, too.
Bush’s fault!!!!111
thats a tough one, how about making it easier, a cat and a homeless person or a dog and a homeless democrat...a cat and a homeless democrat would be a two fer./sarc
How about a dog and a homeless democrat holding a cat?
they all get missed unless its a ferocious pit bull then oops//s
Did I say anything about crack whores or bastard children? No, I was talking about truely needy people. How about this... you could take the animals at the shelter and use them to feed starving people all over the world.
