I have been wondering what happened to Courage. Is he OK? Do you have any recent pictures of him? Who is he with now? Did he have any lasting problems from his starvation?
Courage is at 82 pounds now and so far there are no lasting health issues.
This is the new owner:
The other GSD in the slide show is Zach, a real nice rescued GSD.
COURAGE the WONDER DOG IS FIGHTING BACK!
This thing needs to get bumped some more - so I’ll just say, “Nice Picture you got there Joe!”
How unlike you to be so graphic.
I went over to the link. This just warms my heart. I just want to give him a big hug. I know we aren’t supposed to hate anyone but I can’t help it. I just hate that woman for what she did to that poor dog. The article said she was just cold when she helped load him up to go to the vet. How does a person watch an animal suffer and die? How can anybody be that cold and heartless? She looks like she gets plenty to eat. I wish somebody would tie her to a tree and make her eat dirt till she is in agony just like poor Courage. I hope she goes to prison for a long time.
#8 came up as a red “X”, but I copied it and saw “Bullett” anyhow.
German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, shared happy news while the dog had his blood drawn inside the hospital. "He's doing great," she said. "We still can't get over how well he's done."
The hospital door opened and a big dog bulldozed through us. It took me and my peers palpable seconds to realize ... oh my goodness ... THAT'S COURAGE
The last time we saw Courage, he could barely lift his HEAD, so you can imagine how nobody was prepared to see him standing so TALL.
He's a big dog -- still skinny with ribs and hip bones protruding -- but big nonetheless. He's gained almost 30 pounds in 30 days.
And he's happy. The ears were loose, the tail wagged eagerly, and his head was butting into hands for affection.:
Reference #10 - I start to cry every time I see that dog’s face. In a good, manly sort of way, mind you.
“In a good, manly sort of way, mind you.”
[posted just to keep HG confused]
Just keep reminding yourself:
“She’s a woman who dresses like a man who dresses like a woman who’s into ~discipline~.”
Thanks for the update!
Shepherd-mix puppy I “rescued” earlier this year is up to a healthy weight and scheduled to be fixed soon. She’s been spitting out puppy teeth and taking me for walks every day.
i wish he was mine - but I have lots of pictures of him in his own little album in My Pictures.. :)
