It was like a head feint in a boxing match. In the past couple of weeks, we’ve been fixated on this sudden explosion of loathsome New Black Panther videos on the Internet. Then, all of a sudden–BAM–out of left field here comes the ruling by U.S. District Judge Joseph Tauro in Boston shooting down the federal Defense of Marriage Act. Well, ain’t that just swell?!

Er, well, someone tell me where the US Constitution gives the Federal Govt the power to regulate marriage.

Er, marriage is not mentioned in the Constitution, because no one dreamed we’d ever have to defend the definition of marriage. The founding fathers did not imagine a day where perverts would take over America and insist that their demented lifestyle choice be made “legitimate.”
So? Where is the Federal Govt authorized to regulate marriage?
I guess by now you may have noticed that the federal government does pretty much whatever it darned well pleases, whether the Constitution authorizes it or not.
The DOMA is one piece of legislation that I actually agree with, and since we have the ability to amend the Constitution, I would add it as the next amendment—if I had the power to do so.
