Michele Bachmann Poll Below 50%
Maggie's Notebook ^ | July 13, 2010 | Maggie M. Thornton

Posted on 07/13/2010 6:36:15 PM PDT by maggiesnotebook

With every Republican seat in the House a necessity to keep, conservative Michele Bachmann's race representing Minnesota's 6th District is expected to be tight. She is the hard target for Liberals, who love to hate her and have vowed to overwhelm her campaign financially and every other way.

Bachmann is below 50% in the latest poll - not considered a good place for an incumbent, but she saw this scenario in her 2006 and 2008 campaigns. She has pulled it out before, but was not faced with the current animosity.

She’s up considerably head to head, and of really no risk of losing in a year where Democrats are going to have to fight for all but inner city seats.

Why is Maggie making a story out of nothing? Bachman is up by 8-10 pts against Clark. Has a 15 pt advantage from independents, 8 pt lead among college grads, 12 pts among non-college grads and 8-10 pt lead among both above and below $50K makers.

There is no story here, except Michelle is going to kick Clarks political a$$.

and BTW, 5% undecided and 8% are being leeched by other candidates. Even if 90% of the undecideds break for Clark (they wont, based on the above stats) Bachmann still wins.

It’s a Survey USA poll.

Who conducted the poll? I kind of find this hard to believe. Is the district a left leaning district? IMHO if it’s a left leaning district and the progressive/marxist party needs to fight this hard to unseat her, they’re in deep doo doo. If it’s a center/right district, this poll is worthless, after all even Pelosi has to be a little nervous this year. Then again, this is a pure outsider opinion.

Horse manure. She was vilified something fierce last time. They haven’t been able to lay a glove on her this time.

ilgipper, I hope that’s true. I know some very conservative Minnesotans and they are concerned. I’m told it will be a very tight race. I will be delighted and grateful if it’s a breeze for Bachmann.

Maggie, read the internals. 60% of the polling group was Democrat or Independent and Bachmann is still up by 9 pts.

Michele’s district is the one next to my district. We live in the two most conservative, right-leaning districts in Minnesota. John Kline is my congressman. No way Taryl Clark wins in the west metro.

Michele hasn’t even started running ads. Clark’s running a ton of bash Bachmann ads. They even colorized her teeth in a yellow shade in one of them while lying about her. Yet Bachmann is ahead by 9% in one of the latest polls.

Interesting. I’d say it’s at least 60% Republican here, and they’re polling 60% Democrat and Independent? Way to skew a poll. I’d say they’re whistling past the graveyard.

Yeah. Bachmann won by 8 points in the last election and SUSA had her up by one, the day before. This was without nation recognition, the big $$ and the pure hatred for RATS right now.

It's nothing to be too concerned about, as Congressional polls are usually all over the map.

Taking for a moment that being under 50% carries some significance in a local race, I do believe all incumbents will be facing a challenge in an anti-incumbent atmosphere. However, Bachmann is certainly not your typical incumbent in 2010.

In prison, inmates like to occupy themselves by telling jokes. The many jokes are told so often that they are assigned numbers. Just say number 42 or 15 and everyone to some extent laugh. Except the newbies.

Now if the joke teller makes up a fake number, representing no joke, and fails to initiate laughter, then what are all the listeners to do. Some will still laugh, some boo , others just walk away, and some like you will idiotically clap and ask for more.

First off, "Michelle B. bashing" was not your complaint. You demanded a comment from the poster at post 1.

Secondly, I didn't see the post as a "bash". A bit paranoid perhaps, but I don't see any malice in simply posting the article.
