Obama admits the unemployment situation in America is horrific

President Obama described the horror of unemployment in remarks on unemployment benefits:

" We need to pass it for men like Jim Chukalas, who’s with me today, and who worked as a parts manager at a Honda dealership until about two years ago. Jim has posted resumes everywhere, and even gone door-to-door looking for jobs, but hasn’t gotten a single interview. He’s trying to be strong for his two young kids, but now that he’s exhausted his unemployment benefits, that’s getting harder to do...We need to pass it for all the Americans who haven’t been able to find work in an economy where there are five applicants for every opening; " Where are the jobs, Mr. President?

It is true – Americans don’t want hand-outs – the people want jobs. Unfortunately about the only people who get jobs are President Obama’s closest friends.

I understand that Sam Kass is cool and a brilliant chief, but America doesn’t need a Food Czar right now.

The only jobs the ObamaCare and the Financial Reform create are federal bureaucrat’s jobs. These laws also create an atmosphere of uncertainty since nobody really knows what follows from those massive 5000 pages of regulations.

The unemployed Americans are filing their 1000th on-line job resume while President Obama is passing more regulations on business... The person filing bankruptcy after waiting for the Stimulus, for the Stimulus II, for the Unemployment Summit to create a job is having hard time to believe that moratorium on off-shore drilling will do it.

Unemployment benefits do not create jobs – tax-cuts do.

It’s probably about time for the obligatory Captain Obvious to make an appearance.

Here’s a good idea; let’s let the W tax cuts expire.

“there are five applicants for every opening”

Pretty damnng statement from a sitting president.

And I’m convinced that the real numbers are far more dire than even this statement shows.

Obama said:”Because she’s eligible for only a few more weeks of unemployment, she’s doing what she never thought she’d have to do. Not at this point, anyway. She’s turning to her father for financial support.”

What is wrong with asking your own family for support?

Jim Chukalas was an Auto Dealer Parts Manager. Who shut down half of the Chrysler and GM Dealerships. Who shut down the Gulf Oil Business? Then the arrogant pretender comes out and tells us we are not trying hard enough or giving enough help.If it wasn’t so bad for this Countryt it would be funny. Come on November.

But I thought Obummer saved or created 3 - 3.5 million jobs since he ascended to the throne? Can’t he just create one more job for Jim Chukalas and fix his problem?........./cynical sarc

Study after study have shown a correlation between unemployment benefits and lack of looking for/accepting jobs.

Many times people can get jobs but think those jobs are “beneath” them. It used to be that any job was considered to be a Honest Work and was respected and accepted. Nowadays, the government teat (I know it is unemployment “insurance” but that was a predetermined time, much less than the time now allowed) is more comfortable.

...who worked as a parts manager at a Honda dealership...

What about the parts managers and other workers at the GM and Chrysler dealerships who Obama chose to put on the unemployment rolls for political expediency? I'm sure he has forgotten about them. How convenient for Zero.

Look on the bright side, the first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem. Hopefully the teleprompter hasn’t told Mr. Skittles that the remedy to the problem is cashiering Mr. Skittles.

That is a good point - they ruined so many small businesses - former GM and Chrysler dealerships.

Maybe you can get them on with your pals at Acorn, or with the ever expanding IRS and Census Bureau, or perhaps with the “R&R Czar and Committee”, you phony.
