Dems in Panic Mode as Reality Sinks In
Reaganite Republican ^ | July 19, 2010 | Reaganite Republican

Perhaps even both houses of Congress- whilst the Dems begin to turn on one-another: _________________________________________

Under pressure, the Democrats are cracking. On both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue, there is a realization that Nancy Pelosi's hold on the speakership is in true jeopardy; that losing control of the Senate is not out of the question; and that time, once the Democrats' best friend, is now their mortal enemy.

Since January, when Scott Brown won Ted Kennedy's Massachusetts Senate seat, the President's party has tried to downplay in public what its pollsters have been saying in private: that Obama's alienation of independents and white voters, along with the enthusiasm gap between the right and the left, means that Republicans are on a trajectory to pick up massive numbers of House and Senate seats, perhaps even to regain control of Congress.

Evidence of the pervasiveness of this view: Sunday's New York Times op-ed page, which featured a series of short essays from leading Democratic and Republican strategists about how Obama could go about staging a political comeback, focused not on November's midterms but on 2012 — an indication that Washington conventional wisdom has already written off prospects of Democrats sustaining a majority in the legislature. _________________________________________

And this coming from Time/CNN mind you ... must really be bad for the Obammunists now. Most of Obama's rubes on the Hill must have realized they were sticking their necks out for Team Obama over the last 18 mos, but it seems Gibsy's admission on May 11th that they were in real political trouble brought intra-party tension to a boil.

A painful realization that the Senate -long thought safe- was now in-play too hasn't done much for the progressives' moral as of late, either: _________________________________________

...it forced Pelosi & Co. to recognize that the first part of their plan is failing. Public and private polling suggests that anxiety over the lack of jobs and anger over the big-spending ways of the Administration will trump the merits of the stimulus spending, health care reform and the financial regulation bill in voters' minds. Neither the economy nor voters' perceptions are likely to be turned around by Election Day. Congressional Democrats were aware of this hard reality before Gibbs opened his mouth, but having him say it out loud was apparently too much for those on the Hill to bear... _________________________________________

Don’t forget that we must also get rid of the rino’s in order for any real change in DC. Otherwise we will see McCain’s ‘gang of 14’ type of crap again.

Then why is Reid (poster boy for socialism) 7 pts ahead in NV?

If you look at the polls, Reid really hasn't gained any ground - he has been running in the low 40's for a long time. What happened is that Angle made some verbal gaffes and Harry hammered her hard on them, which caused her numbers to go down.

Harry Reid is stuck in the 40-44% range, and we have 3 months for Angle to get back on her feet. But she needs more money and a focused media counter attack. I don't know that she can drive Harry's numbers much lower, so she has to sell herself. Harry can't sell himself, so he has to drive Angle's numbers lower. The winner will be the one who does a better job. Unfortunately, mud-slinging is usually more effective than trying to communicate a positive message, so I think Harry has the easier job.

That reality is this: Republicans are on a trajectory to pick-up massive numbers of House and Senate seats in November's midterm elections-

And as usual Republicans will think it is their winning charm and winning smiles that are coming riding in wearing white hats to win the day the cause for the sea-change this time around. In reality it is the socialist wing of the Democrat party imploding in on themselves causing the sea-change and the Republicans will be making all the wrong assumptions (as usual) and the Congress will be back to business as usual which is what got the R's thrown out the last time around. The R's haven't learned a damned thing while being stuck out in the wilderness again.

Go Pubbies. Throw it all away, again.

Bravo. Spoken with such.....

hauteur, Ron.

The pubbies, as you choose to call them, have learned a helluva lot more than the DemocRats have learned (granted, not saying much....but...). The problem with the Republican Party is that it's: a) been infiltrated heavily by leftie RINOs (they call them moles in the intelligence arena), and b) there is virtually no leadership, as yet, that one can point to and say "there, that's the person that can bring us out of this malaise and win the White House for sure...no question about it".

Then again, it's still early in the game, eh?

Bulshit! The Democrats are not concerned about the upcoming elections. They know full well how stupid the electorate is.
They know that all they have to do is promise enough freebies, tell the idiots that the Republicans were the ones that caused, and the Republicans not only want to do away with their Social Security, they want to end their unemployment checks also.

Why doesn’t she do a money bomb nationally, like Scott Brown. I know we can’t support every race in Nov. but this is one we can’t let slip away.

The ranks of the Republican Party have indeed been infiltrated and decimated with and by liberal Democrats. All through the 90's and on into the early 00's Dems were abandoning their sinking ships and climbing aboard the winning party at the time and thus flooding the 'R' party with liberal and socialist leaning RINO's.

I seem to recall warning all the middle of the road R's to be careful as this would likely cause the party ideology to shift leftwards. It was just too obvious to this conservative. But the middle of the roaders didn't care so long as the R-party had more R's than D's in Washington. Reminds me of the old addage of being careful for what you wish for.
