The point that rail fans, particularly Willie and other dim socialists, misses, is simply that No corporations have their offices downtown, anymore. Business travel is from the suburbs of one city to the suburbs of another. What is the point of traveling all the way downtown on a train, when you have to rent a car, if you could find a rental agency, and drive that much farther back out to the airport, 20 to 40 miles in most cases, where your sales appointment is?
Sorry Willie, doesn't compute.

My company most of this summer is offering for us to telecommute (on a part time basis that is). I agree with that statement, I’m seeing a lot of companies moving their headquarters away from the city to the suburbs..

What's even more interesting is that in the so-called Silicon Valley, Adobe Systems, Google, Apple, Yahoo!, and Cisco Systems are all within 20 minutes' drive of San Jose Mineta International Airport. Who wants to put their corporate headquarters in San Francisco?
