We brought the news to you last week that Bell, California (one of the poorest municipalities in California) with a population of 38,000 residents was $800,000.00 a year. To make it even worse, their Police Chief almost $500,000.00 and their PART time city officials $100,000.00 a year.
Now, that the residents of Bell know they are furious! City Manager, Robert Rizzo, has already resigned- as well as some other city officials. But, the residents say that is not enough! Among many other things these residents have to say one man says, For all intent and purposes, the city of Bell has one of the highest tax rates in the county. I believe it is 1.57% of your assessed value. I believe that is even higher than Beverly Hills!
Good. Lets hope this sort of thing spreads to every city in the nation.
Resignation by these thugs will NOT settle the issue. Taxpayers are damned mad and the money these bums stole will have to be repaid at least. And the huge pensions they were counting on...forget it! In fact, don’t be surprised to see jail time in the near future. That is, unless someone is mad enough to start shooting, which wouldn’t exactly surprise me.
Thanks for posting the real video link.
LOTS!!!
Getting these overpaid thugs to resign is NOT the answer. Their bloated SALARIES and perks must be rolled back to something that is proportional to the population. Just because the current city manager(?) resigned his/her $800,000.00/year job, it doesn't solve the problem. The salary needs to be rolled back by about 90% and the same with the other overpaid city officials!! This is beyond ridiculous - it is outrageous and probably criminal.
Frankly, IMO, they got off easy by being allowed to resign. Their "resignations" should have been handed to them after they had been tarred, feathered and ridden out of town on a rail!!!
Okay, so they drummed out the old man with the ice cream cart (Bell). When are we going to go after Ben & Jerry’s (Congress)?
