This only makes their actions worse not better. “Journalists” should be reporting facts, not coordinating media smear jobs on behalf of a particular campaign or ideology

No, the problem is that the 'journalists were already political operatives. They are the perfect example of "group think", and are more than willing to reflect their opinion in their supposedly neutral news stories.
