New measure in Lino Lakes requires all government public meetings and documents to only be in English.
Lino Lakes Minnesota can either be seen as small town America or a suburb of the Twin Cities, and its difficult to assess whether this is the start of a new trend or just a reflection of a small community with over 90% of its population being white.
The measure to require all government public meetiAngs to be held in English and public documents to be only printed in English passed by a 4-1 margin yesterday.

I stopped right there. Frustrating how everything has to somehow revolve around race. It’s pathetic. It’s got to stop.
For me, I’d assume that they chose English because MINNESOTA IS IN AMERICA, where the dominant and historical language always been English.
Just a small correction - Lino Lakes is not a small Minnesota town. It is one of the fastest growing second ring Twin Cities suburbs.
And so it begins. Americans are tired of this sheesh. English is spoken all over Europe. English is the International language of business. My husband works for a global company with divisions all over the world and guess what? All finanical records are done in English.
We do immigrants a disservice and students as well by not insisiting on learning English.

That's odd. I'd of thought they would have mandated "Minnesotan" rather than "English".
Lose this war and we will be ruled under the standards of Mexico. Too many people still labor under the losing position that principle can land you somewhere other than on the losing side.
The consequences are unimagineable, across the entire social and economic spectrum.
