The May 1 letter in question just seems to me to be unnecessary to the narrative, so I can’t see the point of creating it to, as you say, obfuscate. Seems like a lot of trouble for no good reason.
On the other hand, perhaps there was truly a May 1 letter that contained something incriminating and, rather than just removing it, they felt the need to replace it with a “cleansed” fake.
Was there, perhaps, an index that listed the May 1 letter and thus required that something be created to replace it?
That appears to be another word for defeatist.
An index? Good question. If there was one, they didn’t release that, either.
I wondered why they had to create a letter, too. I can’t answer that.
I also considered that perhaps they just rewrote it, for some reason we can’t yet guess. You may be on the right track: Maybe there is an index somewhere and there just may still be some honest people at that office that they didn’t want to tip off.
Her signature looks odd on that letter, too, but since I’m not a forensic document examiner, my opinion doesn’t mean much.
All I can judge is what I see and what I see looks weird. Same for that three-page letter Lolo wrote, pages 78 through 80. To me, page 79 looks different from the others. But I have an untrained eye. In addition, on one page Lolo capitalized Communists, and didn’t on the other page. Maybe someone with expertise in this area can weigh in.
It may be true that they released all of this nonsensical documentation, beginning with the COLB, with the sole intent of making us spin our wheels. But doesn’t that, in and of itself, prove what sort of person we’re dealing with? A transparent, honest individual with nothing to hide wouldn’t do such a thing. So in our own way, we contribute simply by outing the nonsense and publicizing it as best we can. Don’t the polls show that there are many more people who doubt his eligibility than the media would like everyone to believe?
I say, let people “fight” in their own way. That’s my two cents.
Why waste your own time, arguing with allegedly like-minded, on-the-same-side individuals instead of spending your time doing your thing. (Y’all know who I’m talkin’ about, and it ain’t Jedidah.)

Released FOIA documents regarding Soetoro and Barry.
There is a document by a so called government employee named Mix confirming the child of Stanley Ann is a US citizen born in Hawaii but the childs name is not listed.
It’s supposed to be. But I can tell you right now that they won’t do it. At this point they’re saying the waiting time for them to RESPOND to a request (that is, when they’ll officially tell you “no”) is 4-6 weeks.
A person can always try, but you have to have press credentials or prove substantial interest, and they will postpone indefinitely unless you ride them all along the way. Whether they ever do produce in the end remains to be seen.
But yeah, they’re supposed to do it.

And these are the comments from the cover letter for the FOIA package:
“We did not locate a 1965 passport application referenced in an application for amendment of passport that is included in the released documents. Many passport applications and other non-vital records from that period were destroyed during the 1980s in accordance with guidance from the General Services Administration.”
Isn’t it fascinating how the government has kept passport applications all the way back to 1795 through the present and yet for some reason they decided they didn’t have room for Stanley Ann Dunham’s application from 1965??

I'm torn as to which is more interesting. That you've created a new conspiracy theory that would've required young Obama to spend MONTHS in Kenya before returning to the US (which conflicts with your existing conspiracy theory which says she returned quickly), or that you used a made-up disease as illustration.
This page could be genuine, an actual copy of an actual entry in the actual file. HOWEVER:
It also looks suspiciously like someone bent over backward to create something that would verify that

— his birth took place Aug. 4, 1961,
— in Honolulu,
— and that those statements were both verified and entered into an official file back when government employees who had never heard of proportional-spaced fonts typed everything on worn-out typewriters with “L” keys that didn’t work properly.
How convenient is that? One little paragraph that addresses all the so-called “birther” questions.

So IF Barry became an Indonesian citizen, and IF he lost his U.S. citizenship which also is very doubtful that he ever had (IF born in Kenya, which they claim over there) and still an "IF," and IF he then re-entered U.S. as an Indonesian citizen, you will still fight for him as being a NBC, right???
