He will probably pull in fewer votes than Ralph Nader.

Huge waste of time and enthusiasm...and it'll go nowhere.

Meet me back here after the vote and we'll discuss.

Sometimes, its better to go with the name brand than the generic. We can’t afford another DEM taking that seat, and this Dr. has no chance in hell of winning over Crist.

You may be right my FRiend.. but my book says GOD +1 is ALWAYS a majority.. I learned a long time ago to just do the right thing and leave the results up to God.. :)

If God wants Marco Rubio to be the GOP nomminee then nothing I say or do will stop that, however I will not be so presumptuous to be able to predict God’s Will in an election :)

Dr. Escoffery is no “generic” my FRiend... Have you even taken 5 mins to look at his credentials and why he chose to ran for the U.S. Senate?

There was a saying back in the days of the vikings that said something like
you should always put your faith in God;
but you should also always continue to row away from the rocks.

Throwing away your vote is throwing it right to the enemy.

There are MANY fine candidates. Not all are electable.

Learn this.

The time to rally behind a candidate to beat the LIBERAL is AFTER the Primary.. During the PRIMARY we need to get behind the best person for the JOB, in this day and age that may not be the one who ran the best campaign... that is the difference between a career politician and a grassroots conservative.... Why do so many folks not understand that? Is this what the GOP primary has been reduced to? Really?

Just because someone can fill out a great job application does not mean they are the best person to do the JOB... we need to be hiring people for jobs based on who is BEST suitied to DO THE JOB ! IMHO that is NOT Marco Rubio. Sorry... I am not THROWING AWAY my vote in the PRIMARY...

having said that, in the GENERAL ELECTION, I will probably do what I always do.. HOLD MY NOSE AND VOTE STRAIGHT PARTY LINE REPUBLICAN... mainly because I believe in a STRONG 2-party system... Why does the GOP always seem to destroy the MOST conservative guy in the race and force the GOP MASSES to hold their nose in November? Why?

Think about it this way.

You are in the market to hire a widget maker.

You have interviewed every widget maker in your community and you narrow it down to 2 or 3 qualified widget makers. You know this is a very big decision and you want to hire the best quality widget maker you can. So you decide to hold a competition and 2 of the 3 widget makers get fully engaged in the competition by telling you how great their widgets are and spend a lot of time pointing out the imperfections of the other guys widgets.

There is a 3rd widget maker who did not get into the competion because he was spending more time out in the real world making widgets not telling people how great his widgets are. The other 2 widget makers don’t have much experience making widgets but are capable of making “average” widgets but spend more time and energy on advertising their widgets and telling the people how bad the other guys widgets are. The experienced widget maker shows up at your office at the last minute right before you are ready to decide which of the 2 big name widget makers you are going to hire.

You have never met this widge maker before but you did hear about him on FreeRepublic. He shows you his references and DEMOSTRATES his widget making ability to you. He further explains that he has never spent any money on advertising but he does have a lifetime of experience making widgets and has lived the widget maker dream his entire life.

He offers to build your widgets but you somehow feel obligated to one of the other 2 widget makers because they worked so hard to earn your business with their elaborate well funded ad campaign... but the problem is, and the bottom line is... their quality of widgets is just not as good as the 3rd guy, and you really want to hire the best QUALITY widget maker, but the other 2 widget makers tell you that it’s not fair for you to hire the 3rd guy because they spent so much money trying to get your vote... Who do you hire?

Since God isnt on this ballot (I believe he is currently the backup QB for the Broncos ;)), then your majority is now just 1.

And, using your logic, if Rubio wins then that was God’s will (the results). Therefore, if Rubio wins, you have actually been going against the will of God. Thats a pretty tough campaign sell:

“My name is David Osborne and I want you to go against the will of God to vote for someone you’ve never heard of.”

ahhh my friend God’s Will is much bigger than any campaign.... Christians are to follow His leading and leave the results up to Him... your suggestion that God’s Will is limited to the RESULTS of political campaign, and that anyone who makes an unsuccessful run for a political office was “out of God’s Will” is a bit naive my friend.... Make no mistake about it, God will not be mocked... win or lose this election, if God has called Dr. Escoffery to RUN for the U.S. Senate he should do it and leave the results up to Him.... Have you ever learned something when you played a game that you lost? How many Olympic athletes would we have if everyone quit the first time they failed at their sport. If we are all honest with ourselves we often learn MORE in games we lose than in games we win. Not saying that Dr. Escoffery will lose, but if He does win, who can argue with the fact that it was God who gave him the victory... and if he loses the primary in 2010, maybe God will have taught him a valuable lesson so that he might have learned a thing or 2 this election cycle that will be valuable in 2012 if he decides to run in 2012... I don’t know for sure, just some things to think about...

I guess you hate the concept of Separation of Church and State.. Also in the Constitution, there is no need for a religious test...
