The only time I heard him talking about VAT, Fairtax, or national sales tax was as a replacement for our current income taxes, not in addition to.

I run the Beck TV thread and I don’t agree with everything he says. If I expected him to say what I wanted all the time I might as well be a liberal sheep.
His carping on slavery is nonsense.

Beck is a libertarian, not a conservative. If I know it from my infrequent visits to his TV show, you should. Beyond that, his TV show is about educating the masses about American history, and the growth of the progressive/communist movement. For that, it’s invaluable.
Quit griping like a child and stop watching if you don’t like it. But rants like this do nothing but divide those who love America. Or, is that your intention...?
Beck is kind of hit and miss. Some of his shows are very good, especially those where he is going after Obama cronies. Others elicit a: WTH is he thinking? To be fair, he is trying to be a lot more pithy, historical, and philosophical than the typical Fox News faire. So, its easy to understand why some of his shows fall flat. At times, he does come off as somebody who is looking to use his show as a political springboard.
He is entertaining sometimes. Had a good rif on George Soros this morning.

No, it's based on the truth. And America needs a dose of truth; especially the masses who've not been educated in history for some decades.

Why bother with an intelligent response to such an idiotic, inaccurate, and poorly written piece? Did Erickson write this? I sure hope not. Glenn does not agree with Ron Paul. Believe it. He has said so to me personally in not so many words. Beck plays a critical role in destroying the left's key narratives, and putting them on the defensive. The left is OBSESSED with Beck and spend an inordinate amount of time attacking him, while we conservatives are mostly amused. It reminds me of "Patton" wherein the German High Command is fixated on Patton and convinced that Eisenhower will use him for every major offensive. Not comparing the two men of course. Just showing how even if you don't care for Beck, you should understand that he serves a big role in the war against the progressive left.
I think the realities of getting boycotted by all the symcophant lefty companies regarding advertising along with a desire appear more unbiased has overtaken his true character.

I wonder, bigblackdog, why did you bother to post this? Do you agree with him? I find that sometimes Beck is boring and off target. Sometimes he upsets me. Same with Rush and the others.
But, mostly, he is helpful, enlightening, and exposes things that we should know about our government and the actions being taken in Washington and the WH.
I guess he can't be brilliant all the time, and maybe his problem with failing eyesight is causing him trouble doing really good research and coming up with really good arguments anymore. I will wait longer to see if he gets his steam up again. In the meantime, childish criticism does not help anyone.
Good. Beck attracts and educates millions of people. He is off base on some things but that shouldn't be a hanging offense. Why are some people so eager to pummel an ally just because he doesn't entertain them any more?
I love Limbaugh but he spends more time talking about himself nowadays than anything else. Hannity isn't deep enough to hold my attention for 30 seconds. Let Beck be Beck. If you don't like him just turn it off. Don't whine about it.
“Carping on slavery”. Oh, so you have a problem with non-revised facts about slavery? Are you then endorsing revisionist history? Beck is teaching that slavery was not an all black problem, just like the holocaust was not an all Jew problem. IE:The first slave owner was black. I would say that is a large fact that is overlooked in the NCAAP mission statement. More carping please.
