There’s something about Arizona By MrArbitrage

I’m receiving a great deal of positive emails from various sources like one sent today from Newsmax.com titled: Armey: Tea Party Movement Will Revolutionize GOP http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/dickarmeyteaparty/2010/08/21/id/368077?s=al&promo_code=A929-1

That sounds great but it is difficult to get excited when one of the most contemptible senators in modern GOP history is presumably coasting into the nomination for another 6 year senate term.

It seems as though Arizonans enjoy being in the lime-light regardless of the reason. It doesn’t matter that their so-called “maverick” received that moniker as a result of being a left-winged appeaser who has obstructed conservatives in just about every significant piece of conservative legislation advanced during his career.

Since November 2008, conservatives nationwide have been on a mission to..."

The difference between McCain and the Democrat is?

If we are going to have a Democrat Senator we might as well have the real thing.

The WORST senator money can buy!

[snip]Mr. McCain tapped into money left over from his failed presidential effort, spending more than $20 million (compared with about $3 million for Mr. Hayworth) making his visage and his harsh attacks on Mr. Hayworth omnipresent on Arizona’s airwaves. Mr. McCain’s spending was among the highest ever for a Senate primary in Arizona and, depending on turnout, could translate into******* more than $75 a vote,************ political analysts said.

McCain can beat the Democrat.

I could beat the Democrat. He's a complete unknown, either due to lack of interest of people to run for the seat, or because the Dems are intentionally trying to grease the chute for McCain.

Mac vote right half the time.
The Dem never will!

I know this place is filled with the all or nothing mentality, but then we have to live in the real world.

Try it some time!

Exactly. He’s using money people contributed to him as the lesser evil than an incompetent Marxist totalitarian to beat a conservative.

Dear Friend,

With John working so hard in Washington and spending countless hours campaigning throughout Arizona, I know that he’s not paying much attention to the fact that he has a birthday coming up just days after the primary election.

Today, I am writing to request your help. John’s birthday is on August 29th, and I very much want you and many of his other loyal friends and supporters to be part of the celebration.

In recent years, I have seen how much it means to John to receive personal birthday wishes from friends like you in Arizona and across the country and I hope that this year will be no different. In fact I hope you will help make this one of his best birthdays ever.

That is why I am asking you to write your personal birthday message to John by following this link today so I can be sure it is included in the special Birthday Album we will present to him.

With this being the toughest reelection John has ever faced, one of the best gifts we can give him is a victory in the Republican primary. That is why I hope you will also consider making a generous contribution of $25, $50, $100 or any other amount up to the $2,400 limit.

As you know, John has been traveling to every corner of Arizona to remind voters how he shares their solid conservative values and how important it is that he remain in the U.S. Senate to fight the dangerous policies of the Obama administration and the Democrat-controlled Congress who are taking our country in the wrong direction.

John never hesitates to step into the forefront when fighting to solve our nation’s most critical issues - especially if he feels that a certain policy is harmful or misguided. Service to his country has always been a driving force in his life - and Arizona and America have greatly benefited from the dedication he brings to his job.

I hope you agree that the U.S. Senate very much needs John’s leadership during these difficult times where our nation’s economy, security, liberties and values are greatly endangered. In today’s volatile politics, no one can take anything for granted. To win re-election, John continues to need your help.

So please follow this link to sign John’s Birthday Card with your special message and at the same time if at all possible, make a contribution of $25, $50 or perhaps even $100 to ensure John will have the funds he needs to fight back against those who want to defeat him.

John’s life has been filled with many rewards but quite honestly a personal message from you and other loyal friends is one of the best birthday gifts we can give him. Your support has brought him this far in life and it will be your continued help that will enable him to remain in the job he so dearly loves.

Thank you again for all you do for John and for being a part of our extended family.

P.S. I know how much it means to John that so many of his friends who have been with him over the years are still so loyal and ready to help in his reelection campaign. Please follow this link to sign his Birthday Card and if possible, include a generous birthday contribution of $25, $50, $100 or even $250, to help John win the toughest reelection battle he has ever faced. Thank you.

Not only did he have the $30 million, more helpful was having Fox News on his side. It wasn’t just the product placement tactics that Hannity and others gifted McCain with, it was the virtuall shutting down the story from day one.

Fox News didn’t ALLOW this race to become a story -unlike- the Rubio/Crist race. The Fox News manipulation of what SHOULD have been a GIGANTIC story (Conservatives ousting the previous GOP Presidential nominee from his Senate seat) is disgraceful. It was much like the way they campaigned for Mitt Romney and will do again next time around - to our detriment.
