Ben Smith (Journ-o-lister) has been flooding the zone on the problems with Michael Gross's dishy profile of Sarah Palin in Vanity Fair. I've talked to some Alaskan sources of mine and Gross's who are deeply unhappy with how the story turned out. Shannyn Moore, a radio and TV host in Anchorage, gave me permission to quote the e-mail she sent to Gross complaining about how he handled the material and sources. (In the story, Moore is portrayed rather cartoonishly, smoking and talking on her cell phone while driving, but there are people portrayed far more harshly.)

You just "Sarah Palined" people here.
I'm going through a list doing damage control and telling people I'm so sorry I gave you their contacts and vouched for your professionalism and credibility.

I don't give a rip what you said about me - though it was so completely wrong, and put me in such a completely inaccurate and unfavorable light people are mad on my behalf.
Fine thanks for Alaskan hospitality. I have extended the Alaska Spirit to dozens of journalists and visitors, and I will continue to do so. It's on YOU, not me, as you are the only one who has broken agreements with sources you promised complete anonymity.
I'm sure you're thrilled to be on TV now. Just know, like Sarah, Alaskans paid a price for it. Specifically, a 79-year old woman, with failing health, who spoke to you under anonymity who hopes her adult children will speak to her again.

Shannyn Moore is a garbage dump in a human body. She’s the one who obsessively filed bogus ethics complaint after bogus ethics complaint against Sarah while writing defamatory blogs against her whole family. She’s the most despicable level of Hillary shill - the lifelong loser who is hoping to finally make a name for herself out of sheer sadism.
That she is now “offended” by something written about her goes beyond incredible, and into the realm of surreal - it’s like watching a turd complain that something smells bad.
Sounds like old Adam Clymer, the guy being discussed sometime back around ‘04 by GW and Dick Cheney near a microphone that was turned on, unknown to them. I think it was Cheney who indicated Clymer in the audience at an event of some kind and told GW “that guy is an a$$hole!” To which GW replied, “Big time!”
By the way.......the guy in question in Alaska isn’t the creep who took up residence next door to the Palins back in the spring so he could spy on them, is it? The name jogs one of the synapses in my little six-volt brain.

It is in my humble opinion that what this skank Moore needs is to be Alinskied. She should be hounded mercilessly until she impales herself on a moose antler.

Title of the article reminded me of when we used to say “he’s a Clymer” around here. A fine word “coined,” so to speak, in a hot mic moment by Dick Cheney.
