Is the tide changing enough for the rank and file to speak their piece?

I look forward to your insight.

Well, we’re really just a bunch of Moslem spies who are doing this as conscientious objectors who don’t wanna go on jihad. Yeah, I was about halfway through that sentence when I started to regret it.

A percentage of the rank and file’s money goes to left or far left candidates each election cycle. If Union members don’t like that they are going to have to stand up to their leadership and demand pro business candidates.

Union leadership is heading the other way. The current administration has repealed rules that allow members to have an independent audit of where there money go (including pension funds). The DISCLOSE Act that would require political organizations to release the names of top donors has an amendment to exempt Unions. Finally this administration condones financial reprisals against locals that don’t meet their “voluntary” contributions to the union pacs. If the local member won’t stand up they will get stood on.

How in G-d's name did they let them get away from ERISA with the Pensions?

That is a bad accident waiting to happen..

What it means (in practice) is that poor management will be rewarded and Union political clout increased. Expect federal government bailouts of pensions. As long as no one screams, the pension funds will continue to be robbed for (insert favorite excuse here) and the taxpayer will be on the hook.
