Upgrading the memory of a computer can improve performance dramatically. So can upgrading the memory of a nation. But before you upgrade the memory of a computer, it is best to check what memory you have. To do this you can download simple software. My purpose here is to do the same thing for our national memory.

Right on, my friend! What that fine man sang was the fourth verse. But I’m so old that in high school, we had to memorize the first and fourth verses of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” And we had to memorize the Gettysburg Address and the Preamble to the Constitution as well. See, I’m really old—I can remember when we were brought up to be Americans.
But let’s admit, back then one could go to school for 12 years and never be taught how to put a condom on a bananna. ;-)
And - schools didnt pass out free condoms. When I was a teenager we couldnt even buy them unless we used the coin machine in a (usually not too clean) gas station restroom.
