Another political family dynasty falls. And there was much rejoicing.

Did this one spawn?

He is losing BIG on 2nd Amendment issues, so he decides to take his toys and go home. Sore loser.

Has all of the “stuff” come out yet about the failed Olympic bid?

Could there be some big real estate scandals in the offing?

If Rahm Emmanuel is Mayor of Chicago, I will not spend a dime in that city. I’ll go see my Cubs play in Cincy or St. Louis and leave those tourist dollars there instead.

Getting out before the bankruptcy. Let someone else deal with the consequences of his mistakes.

Great news!

Now, will he put Meigs Field back the way it was before he leaves office?

Rham Emanuel now has a lifeboat to jump to when he bails off of the sinking ship he is on.

More likely the financial state of Chicago is soooo bad, that it all comes unglued next year, and he’s getting out while the getting is good..

Don't sweat Rahm. He'd never get to first base. You have to know Chicago machine politics. Rahm would have no machine aka ward organization behind him. He would only garner support from the north shore limosine liberals, the gays and the artsy fartsy elites.

My bet is Richie's brother, Bill. Only 52, and the youngest of the Daley brothers, he's an attorney, secretary of commerce under Clintoon, plus he has the added advantage of knowing who and what's under the slippery rocks of every potential competitor. BTW, there's no primary in mayoral elections in Chicago. However, the winner of the general must win with 51% of the vote.

Bill Daley would also garner millions in contributions because the Chicago business community and heavy hitters in other fields have always loved the Daleys.

Plus he's always evinced an interest in running for something.

Two reasons may have impelled Richie's decision. First, his wife has cancer and suffers continuing setbacks. He wants to spend time with her, I'm sure. He's always been a good Irish family man.

Second, losing the Olympics for Chicago was really a blow to him. It seemed to knock some of the old wind out of his sails. It's been said he looked forward to running the show and taking credit for any benefits to the city the Games might have provided. Perhaps he even dreamed of seguing into an Olympic legacy, like Uberroth and Romney.

A not-too-surprising name has just surfaced....Chicagoan Oprah Winfrey. Remember, she inexplicably is terminating her lucrative show....and she's mentioned intersted in becoming involved in politics.

Wow, if she threw her wig into the race....what fun we would have!

Leni

Does he have a son? If so it will be passed to the son. Just like this one received it.

Translating — I’ve stolen as much as I safely can, now it’s time to abscond before the hollowed out walls come crashing down.
