Media pundits got a break today from speculating on just how big the Republican wave will be in November. Instead they got to speculate on who will be President Barack Obama's next Chief of Staff if Rahm Emanuel decides to run for mayor of Chicago now that current Mayor Richard Daley has decided not to seek a seventh term.

Is Obama really going to want to have Valerie Jarrett in that job especially when the new Republican Congress holds hearings on the Blago debacle? Probably not.

I suspect Obama will pick someone who's not a bomb-thrower like Rahm, nor as invested (and by "invested", I mean an accomplice in the conspiracy) in the recent past as Jarrett.

Just thinking out loud, I wonder if he could entice Stephenopolous, especially considering the firestorm that's going on at ABC right now.
