Over the past week, several political-insider wizards of smart have deemed Republican senatorial hopeful Christine ODonnell unelectable almost taking it to the point of vitriolic screeds youd expect to hear from left-wing commentators, which would probably appear as a guest on MSNBC in their prime time lineup.
Their issue: In an interview, ODonnell had claimed she could be the potential target of political opponents and that she had to be extra careful when she would go home at night.
Theyre following me, she told The Weekly Standard. They follow me home at night. I make sure that I come back to the townhouse and then we have our team come out and check all the bushes and check all the cars to make sure thatthey follow me.
Now suddenly this has raised the ire of some conservative pundits suggesting that she isnt fit for office because of her caution. But actually, she does have cause for concern. According to a video from her campaign it has been documented that operatives from her opponents campaign, Rep. Mike Castle, have in fact attended events she hosted with video cameras. So how would you feel if you were being followed with a video camera?
That being said who are these detractors, as conservative males, to call into question the safety self-concerns of a 41-year-old female in what could be a highly charged political contest? Is it really the smartest thing to do to be so obsessed with the race for a Delaware Republican senatorial nomination that one would make these judgment calls about someones character, especially coming from the political right? Its a bizarre phenomenon to say the least.

Yep. From this event I have come to realize the Political Elite that runs the GOP has far more in common with the Obama-Pelosie-Reid political machine then they do with average citizens
O’Donnell is a flake.

Sorry, flame me if you will but she sounds like a bit of a nut. Campaigns film at opponents’s events all the time hoping they catch you saying something dumb or kooky. This is nothing new. That’s a far cry however from “following you home” or that they’re hiding in the bushes and thus needing to send campaign aides out to search through the landscaping. This claim makes her sound a little weird. Add to that her claim that her home and office were vandalized, yet she didn’t report either to the police, and it seems she has a pattern of either paranoid delusion or just making up victim claims to score political points. I’m not a fan of Mike Castle. But we could have done better coming up with a conservative opponent to the guy. This one seems like a lose-lose.
Jim Geraghty of the National Review being among the most unhinged. That lame-ass defender of all thing establishment appointed himself vigilante IRS agent.
Wow. That sure is scary.
Do you think Cornyn is in on it or is this a Steele deal. By the way, what does Steele do and has anyone heard from him?

I met one of those trackers with a video camera at an event and told him his boss was a pig! I’m sure he got that on his recording! LOL!
Sounds like Castle is running the same kind of dirty campaign that Marty Lamb is running here in MA 3rd district.
Only Dumbasscrats campaign like that. *cough*
Ha.
Just look at what the actions of the left did/does to ALL the opponents of Clinton and Obama .
They harass them at Home !
Just Ask Ken Starr and Paula Jones and Any CEO of a large Corp!
Your the naive one here !
Astroturfing? Don’t be silly. You seem to make that comment quite alot to people you disagree with.
“Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean someone isn’t out to get you.”
I am inclined to believe Lloyd Marcus:
“I sang at the Tea Party Express press conference in Delaware supporting Christine O’Donnell, Constitutional Republican for U.S. Senate. O’Donnell is a real deal Tea Party movement candidate; create more jobs, cut spending & debt, lower taxes and protecting our core values.”
Oh! And, all but a handful in Congress are not? Puhleeze!
They CAUGHT the guy in the bushes around her house!
True, but O’Donnell seems flakier than most.
So everyone in politics is like Clinton and Obama? You ask if I have proof she's not telling the truth. Do you have proof she is, esp.in the absence of her ever filing any police reports of this stuff? She made the accusation, let her provide the proof. The burden of proof rests with the accuser--and her refusal to ever report these claims to the police says alot about their veracity. I'm not naive. I just don't accept claims spewed out without evidence, nor do I accept the silly proposition that somehow all politicians act like Bill Clinton or the Obama cabal do. I'm no Mike Castle fan but don't you think equating him with the Democratic thugs is a little unfair?
Listen to the audio here around the 7:00 mark. http://www.wgmd.com/?p=9588
Rachel Maddow picked this up last night and it reeked of political dirty trickery.
Who's the "they?" The police? What's your source that "they" caught someone in the bushes, and second even if they did that he was working for her opponent? The article doesn't mention anyone having been apprehended. If I missed something in the article, I'll be glad to admit I overlooked it.
There’s a Tea Party Express rally tonight on Legislative Mall in Dover. I’m sure the Castle trackers will be out in force!
BAM!
So says all the GOPride village people.
We'll see if the good folks of Delaware have been paying attention to the rest of the gay antics across the nation.
I'm betting they will elect conservative Christine O'Donnell, in spite of the gay RINO tactics.
You're asking us to equate the two activities, when they're not even remotely the same.
She sounds good to me.
What is his name? What are his connections?
Did the police bind him over or release him on his own recognizance?
What were the charges?
It’s satisfying sometimes.
I would perhaps buy the argument that O’Donnell is less than a stellar candidate but when her opponent refuses to debate her, imho that tells me a lot more about him than it does her. And does anyone notice that the folks who trash O’Donnell never bring up this tidbit.
I’m not a Delaware voter but, in my opinion, she beats any alternate in the arena. I think the problem with this country is that we da peoples are not the risk-takers that we, once, were. Were too timid to make a bold decision and live with the consequences (and I’m not talking about the dead-beat in the Whitehouse)! We were, once, a better people!
Bring a flashlight and check the bushes for us ok?
I don’t know his name, but I know what he looks like. They told him to leave and he did. He is working either for Castle of the Republican GOP. He hasn’t given a straight answer.

That's what it must be.
Still you have to be impressed by how well Castle is funded - after all, he was able to use a time machine to send Parmenio back to 2003 to sign up for FR, just so he could lie in wait for seven years to criticize poor O'Donnell.
What a nefarious mastermind!
She is making huge waves which makes her a HUGE TARGET and her election threatens billions that could be made if Castle is not elected and the Cap & Trade scam is not rammed thru in the lame duck session.
These three groups are trying to smear her . I ‘ll send a note to her campaign that YOU DEMAND she file a report NOW !
And you seem to do quite a bit of astroturfing here.
I speak for myself and tell it like it is. No one’s paying me anything to do this.
I hope her campaign is filming all of Castle’s public events too.
I agree about the risk taking! Being cautious and timid has gotten us the party of Mike Castle and Arlen Specter. To hell with them, let’s try out the new gal.
She can’t possibily vote worse than Castle!
Let me get this straight.
"They" found this guy on O'Donnell's property.
He apparently had no desire to leave on his own, so "they" had to tell him to leave.
But, before he left, "they" questioned him and he was willing to stick around and talk - however, he did not give "them" straight answers. He either may or may not have indicated that he worked for the Castle campaign or for a mysterious organization called "the Republican GOP." That you can say without a doubt.
During this exchange, apparently none of "them" had cell phones, so "they" were unable to photograph him or call 911 to report him to the police or to take down his license plate.
Despite this criminal activity, "they" decided to give him a free pass and not file a police report.
Who said the guy is for Castle ?
Odd how you defend someone trashing a tea party candidate running against a poorly disguised Dem like Castle who is the needed vote to ram thru Cap & Trade in the lame duck session.
Yet the O'Donnell campaign has not done so. Why?
You tell me. You seem to know all the answers.
