West Virginia Governor and US Senate candidate Joe Manchin (D) is fighting back against charges leveled by his Republican opponent that he would be nothing more than a rubber stamp for the unpopular Obama agenda. In his new ad, the governor did not deny the accusations nor claim he would stand up against the president's policies in keeping with the wishes of voters. Instead he took a page from the Obama playbook and simply whined that he is being picked on by a political opponent who dares to tell the truth.

If John wants to WIN. He’s gonna hafta get A LOT NASTIER than this.
Hey John! Go look at the McCain ads vs JD. Now THAT is how you DESTROY an opponent.
You really have a shot at this, don’t lose your fortitude and play softball.
KILL KILL KILL!!
And then dig up the corpse and BURN it.
Some of the local guys at our Tea Party meeting last night said that the miners are really mad at Manchin and are talking about bucking the union and voting Republican John Raese. All the WV Tea Parties are going to work for Raese because Joe will be a rubber stamp for oboy. I’m beginning to think that this race is doable. If only we could get Sarah to endorse Raese or especially if she came to WV, we could win this. Raese would be seated the day after elections.
It would be the END of the 1 party rule if it happened. And Shelley Moore would be KICKING herself for not running. LOL
if manchin is in trouble, reid is definitely losing his job.
Pubbies could pick up 14 governorships.
Rasmussen just released a poll of likely voters for the WV Senate race showing Manchin leading Raese by only 48% to 44% (or by 50% to 45% if they include “leaners”): http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/west_virginia/election_2010_west_virginia_senate_special_election
And now for 8 more weeks of West Virginians being reminded that Manchin and Obama are both Democrats. How about +13 in the Senate?
And even West Virginians who like Manchin and think he’s doing a good job as governor think that he should go to Washington. From the Rasmussen poll:
“Manchin remains highly popular in the state, with 67% approving of the job he is doing as governor versus 32% who disapprove.
A slight plurality (42%) of West Virginia voters, in fact, say it would be better for the state if Manchin remained as governor. Thirty-seven percent (37%) say it would be more beneficial for West Virginia if Manchin represented it in the Senate, but another 21% are undecided.”
Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Nevada are the three big tossups we need to win.
