“Burning copies of Mein Kampf will only further inflame German passions and make their troops treat our prisoners badly.” General Paintywaist, 1943

OK.

But I was talking about burning books. Any book. About anything.

Stifling ideas is not the way to get your point across. A better way would be to use their ideas against them.

Books are wonderful, beautiful things. Even bad books.

This pastor is basically acting like a troll.
*********************************************
He’s trolling for radical true believers ... The FBI/CIA and other groups will pick up huge amounts of intel and chatter now and in the coming months because of this.. The pastor is doing us a favor in the end.

I agree , but burning a book , of which there are probably a billion copies does nothing to stifle the hatred that is Islam, rather than wallow in their sewer I would say that it appears to be time to take out the garbage.

No books have been burned, yet there are riots in Muslim countries as the simple suggestion that Korans might be burned.

The point is not burning a book full of lies.

The point is that Muslims insist on things being done their way, or they threaten violence. Sensible parents don’t accept that sort of behaviour in their two year-olds. Why should the world accept it in Muslims?

Oh, and as far as I could glean from Gen. Patton’s comments, he may not have thought much of Islam, but he didn’t say anything about burning the Koran.
*************************************************
Patton was fighting the AXIS , the Arabs/Moose limbs were aligned with Germany ,, they absolutely were thrilled with killing all the Jews ,, they were an “easy sell” for Hitler... Of course Patton couldn’t care less about book burning , the koran was just “opposition research” to him ,, he was engaged in warfare against them. Why burn someones books when you can send a division of tanks after them with air support.

At this point, burning a Koran may prevent Muslims from getting burned alive by our citizenry. Muslims are THIS CLOSE to getting seized, their homes looted/burned, and either lynched or worse. When a pastor of all people wants to burn Korans and it is getting this much press, it means that something is on the verge of happening. Look at all the support he’s getting. Now people are close to going over the edge.

Too few American Muslims have clearly, without ambiguity, stated their unqualified opposition to the Islamists. Yes, there are some, and yes, some have served in the US military, but the vast majority have been silent, or offered wishy-washy excuses.

The next time terrorists commit mass murder here, I'm not predicting ruin for Muslims, because I think Americans are inherently decent people, but I do not look for much tolerance for any excuses made for the killers, or spontaneous protection of mosques. We simply have learned too much about them since 9~11.

I don’t know if you know this, but during WWI there were lynchings of Germans, to say the least about WWII treatment of the Japs.

” but I do not look for much tolerance for any excuses made for the killers,”

I sincerely believe that if the Muzzies pull one more thing on our soil, that the MSM and entertainemnt industry will also feel the wrath of the citizenry. This controversy shows that there are many Americans itching to lash out. the Muslims here have been spoiled by our indulgence and the enabling of the hippies.
