Posted on 09/13/2010 7:59:14 AM PDT by Big Bureaucracy
Here comes the Boehners genius: rich democrats talk class warfare only because they believe the Republicans are there to protect their success. If the Republicans give up and let the radical left President run wild without a check all those rich democrats will have to walk the walk to IRS, not only talk the talk.
House Republicans Leader (and soon to be Speaker) John Boehner called President Obamas bluff and stated he will vote for extending only part of the Bush tax-cuts if the Democrats have no will to give tax-cuts for the wealthy.
That sent shock-waves through the ranks of the rich elite that give their contributions to Democrats, but hope that the Republicans will watch for their wallets and protect them from tax-hikes.
The Hollywood crowd earning over 250K suddenly realized their favorite president of all time will cost them dearly next year when their personal income tax starts hiking the up-hill.
Liberal celebrities and philanthropists that readily did class warfare propaganda for the Democrats were suddenly terrified when they realized Obama actually hates the rich not just talking about it.
Wealthy democratic campaign contributors realized they subsidized the very beast that is after their wealth and success... The only way for democrats to extend the Bush tax-cuts for all Americans is to help those rich funding the Democratic party understand that if they keep funding socialists their wealth will be socialized in the IRS accounts.
John Boehner often says: Elections have consequences. If the business community keeps funding the anti-business political party, they shouldnt be surprised that we get anti-business President, who is enforcing anti-business policies.
It is time for the wealthy to get tax-punished by President Obama and his radical friends, so they never ever give a dime to the Democratic Party ever again.

I give Boehner two points for that one. So many richies donated to, and voted for, Obama, and now they whine. Idiots.
Dems: stuck on stooooopid!
Plus, he has taken away a much hoped for Democrat talking Point.
Nice! Rich liberals are like Europe, happy to allow American conservatives to protect them while whining about Big Business and Green hoaxes aimed at America. It’s time they paid for their opinions like us proles.
Did you notice how the democrats attack Boehner for calling Obama’s bluff.
If the republicans vote what Obama wants - all the rich democratic campaign contributors will go nuts. They fund the Democrats and pretend they are the good guys while they hope the bad guys (the republicans) will protect their wealth.
Bingo. They want wealth, and a clear liberal concience. They are hypocrites, vipers, and not very nice.
Now you could talk about the theoretical tax that Obama's crowd floated not long ago to tax net worth every year to the tune of about 2%. That would leave a mark.
BUT BOEHNER SMOKES CIGARETTES!!!!!!!!!!!
Boehner is right....the limosene liberals fund their own destruction.
just like the rich landowners in Cuba who supported Castro in the late 50’s then were SHOCKED, SHOCKED to find that they lost everything.
Obvious that the rich support both parties, so they can claim leverage, lobbyist need to be ousted and not allowed in the halls of Congress or bribing the legislators for their votes.
There is much out of whack in Washington and it has been happening bit by bit for years. Now it is big enough to KILL America and all it has stood for under the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION.
We still have the Constitution, let us pick it up off the floor where all are walking on it and put them out of office, in jail, or impeached.
If the Republicans let Obama tax-hike the rich - this will be the end of the Democratic party - there will be very few loons who will continue to fund them.
The Republicans take the power in 2012 and do real tax-reform - fair tax, or flat tax, or something real, not patch works here and there.
Would that mean if your net worth is negative, they send you a check?
I watch a lot of business shows. A year ago the MSM, lib talking heads, all the Obamabots and Rat pundits were falling all over themselves to disparage the Tea Party movement as, not only racist, etc., but INEFFECTIVE and POWERLESS.
As this year has proven that wrong, and as this year also has made it demonstrably clear that we have an economic madman (actually, a driven purely ideological ANTICOLONIALIST) in the White House, I cannot flip on any show where there is not some huge CEO, economist, analyst, pundit referencing the general hope that, in so many words, those Tea Party people really will come out to the polls in November and vote to STOP THE MADMAN.
The entire country, including, ironically, the ELITES, -- maybe even the entire global economy -- is waiting with bated breath to see if the unwashed masses -- the Wal-Mart people -- are going to rise up and save the whole darn country!
This happens over and over again in history.
When you vote to turn "wants" that cost money into "rights" -- thereby imposing the "duty" to pay for the fulfillment of everyone's "rights" (such as to healthcare) on the only people who have the money to pay -- the people with money have to be stripped off their wealth sooner rather than later.
Then, as Margaret Thatcher said, when you "eventually run out of other people's money," that's when the real brutality begins. It is then the only way to put down the inevitable civil unrest and force redistribution of what little resources the society still has.
It also, as Stalin pointed out and many other brutal dictators have practiced, becomes a way to reduce the number of mouths the State must feed and police. Mass murder, artificial food shortages, these are inexorable if a society goes down the road of true Socialism.
This is a Red Herring!
The real “Rich” are not even subject to taxation under the tax code, and they are the ones funding the Dems.
The people that benefit from the Bush tax cuts are not the rich, but the upper middle class, who are responsible for at least 80% of the jobs in this country.
The MSM demonize the upper middle, and falsely call them “the wealthiest Americans,” which is nothing but marxist class warfare.
Boehner is a prostitute.
A prostitute is one who does not have the moral scruples for anything but making money.
If he had an ounce of morality, he would not cave in.
I’ve decided that Boehner has made the right move here. Let the Dems screw the rich if they insist on it . . . and deal with the backlash.
> “I give Boehner two points for that one. So many richies donated to, and voted for, Obama, and now they whine”
Stop giving Boehner credit for anything; he is a deceiver.
The “Rich” are not whinning; they are coaxing congress to heap taxes on us, because those taxes will not even affect them; their wealth is beyond the reach of the taxes that will be raised.
True, but wouldn’t you enjoy to see Obama tax-hiking Chris Mathews - I wonder if this will send tingles up his leg. LOL
> “If the republicans vote what Obama wants - all the rich democratic campaign contributors will go nuts.”
No, they won’t, because Obama’s tax increase will only hit the upper middle class, not the rich.
The rich would be hit if it were a tax on accumulated wealth, which it is not.
And Rush is right as usual.
There was an interesting thread a couple of days ago about a survey that indicated that people would rather have more money than their peers, even if it is less money than they have now, than have more money than they have now if it means their peers have more money than them.
Its human nature, wealth is more about having one up on your neighbor than satisfying material desires. There was an episode of the Jeffersons with the same theme with George Jefferson saying "What good is being wealthy if everyone else is also wealthy?"
> “Ive decided that Boehner has made the right move here. Let the Dems screw the rich if they insist on it”
Boehner is an idiot!
The proposed tax increases won’t touch any “Rich” because it is a tax on earnings, not wealth. It’ll kill the upper middle class that create all the jobs.
You are talking about uber-rich - there are many who work for them who will be tax-hiked. They will end up with unhappy staffers :)
I think by the time the Congress will be ready to vote - the lobbyists will find enough democrats to support Boehner and the Republicans for continuing all the Bush tax-cuts.
This is all who will be the chicken game.
> “There was an episode of the Jeffersons with the same theme with George Jefferson saying ‘What good is being wealthy if everyone else is also wealthy?’ “
Is “The Jeffersons” real life?
No, it is propaganda created by Marxist Socialist Atheist Norman Lear.
This is what the MSM want believed, since it will facilitate taxing the people to serfdom.
Consider Theresa Heinz Kerry- almost all of her money is in tax-free muni bonds or in overseas tax shelters. So if you tripled her USA taxes, she’d pay $180,000 per year instead of $60,000.
This would mean new sails on “the little yacht” every four years instead of three, a devastating inconvenience.
Tax-hiking the MSNBC is a good lesson for them.
We need real tax-reform anyway. We need the whole tax-code disposed and a new fair tax, or a low flat tax imposed.
Yes, Boehner seems to be winning the argument.
Boehner may pleasantly surprise us just yet.... when he becomes speaker!
Who do you think these “lobbyists” might be?
Their source of funds is chicken feed in comparison to Soros, Buffett, and Gates, all of whom have demanded tax increases on earners (which they are not).
Republican should run on a dramatic tax-reform. The debate about the Bush tax-cuts will be irrelevant in a year if the Republicans are serious about tax-reform.
Seeing it put that way, it seems Bohener knew what he was doing...although I thought that in the first place.
> “We need the whole tax-code disposed and a new fair tax, or a low flat tax imposed”
Please stop smoking that stuff; its making my cat dizzy!
Those are the lobbyists who are afraid of real tax-reform.
The whole system of tax-cuts, tax-deductions, earned income credit, picking winners and losers in the thousands of pages of the tax-code should be disposed.
10-page tax-code should be implemented - everybody pays 10%-12% or something like that.
‘Please stop smoking that stuff; its making my cat dizzy!’
If the Republican don’t have the guts to make a real tax-reform with this wave of enthusiasm in the country - they will never do it.
Cmon editor, you know dang well that this is true, people love the envy of others more than actual wealth, nearly all of advertising is based on this concept, and it has worked well for decades. Its not a communist plot, its simply part of the sinful nature of man.
I am proved correct already. The democrats in the House are drafting a letter to extend all the Bush cuts.
Unhappy major donors?
> “If the Republican dont have the guts to make a real tax-reform with this wave of enthusiasm in the country - they will never do it.”
Unless we throw out the current power structure in the party, they will never do it.
What you’re ignoring is the vast benefits of “going along to get along” in both houses of congress. Even congressmen that get tossed out of office are taken care of if they went with the flow, and that is worth from 250 million and up.
Boehner is looking “up.”
> “Cmon editor, you know dang well that this is true, people love the envy of others more than actual wealth”
That is true for some, but most of them do not last long. Their nature gets the best of them quickly.
If you are not happy with Boehner challenge him in a primary.
Maybe Boehner is smarter than I had given him credit for, or maybe he's just catching on.
I've been trying to tell people for many years that there are very few conservatives as executives or management in corporations, and even less in NGOs, academia, hollywood, government agencies at all levels. The commies having been "seizing the wealth" long before Obama showed up.
“there are very few conservatives as executives or management in corporations, and even less in NGOs, academia, hollywood, government agencies at all levels. The commies having been “seizing the wealth” long before Obama showed up.”
You are so right. The Bush tax-cuts for the ‘wealthy’ will hit lots of democratic elitists that make between 250K and 400K - about all of the PhDs behind fancy college desks fall in this category. Democrats are the ones that fill many sweet and well paid bureaucratic jobs.
Probably not in your case, but O has given it some thought:
the Earned Income Tax Credit provides
income through the tax code
(it) should be expanded
so more families can take advantage of it.
The Audacity of Hope, p.283
Also don’t forget the local bureaucracies - remember that California mayor with the 6 digits salary?
Obama calls the expanding of the Earned Income Tax Credit a ‘tax-cut’. This is a travesty. Through EIC folks that don’t own taxes receive check of thousands of dollars.
Also they transformed the ‘workfare” into community jobs. Workfare did not count as income for EIC - so they transformed it into salaries so the workfare (street sweeping etc) can collect EIC bonus trough the tax-code on their workfare.
THAT is an interesting statement. Do you have a confirmed source? The reason that's so terribly interesting is that this would replicate the Islamic Sharia tax scheme of zakat, which is a 2.5% tax on net worth.
What he actually said was:
"If the only option I have is to vote for those at [$250,000] and below, of course I'm going to do that," Boehner said. "But I'm going to do everything I can to fight to make sure that we extend the current tax rates for all Americans."The Democrats want the Republicans to fight for "tax cuts for the rich", so they have something to beat the Pubbies with in attack ads just before the election. What Boehner is doing is to tell the Dems: "You want it? You got it. We will just vote "present" and let you pass it, and get all the credit for it. See how well your rich constituents like you now."
According to the Constitution, the people have a right “to petition their government” and lobbyists are just agents for the people.
