Today, the day after a very stunning victory for tea party conservative Christine O’Donnell of Delaware. She was able to pull off this win, not only because of her support coming not only from the tea party movement in Delaware, but from national conservative talk radio show hosts, such as Mark Levin. This morning she was on Fox’s “Fox And Friends”. She is a reminder that this nation, the United States of America is right now in revolt mode by many Americans. Despite bad reports coming from Karl Rove and a number of GOP establishment persons, Ms. O’Donnell’s win shows that Americans have had enough with both out-of-control spending and regulations. There is “no doubt” that Ms. O’Donnell CAN WIN.

Ms. O’Donnell’s win shows that Americans have had enough with both out-of-control spending and regulations.

Well, maybe. It probably does show that those who voted in the GOP primary feel that way.

Whether that's enough to carry her to a victory in the general election is of course an entirely different question.

The numbers are not particularly encouraging for O'Donnell.

Here's the Statewide party registration for 2010:

Democrats: ..... 292,720
Republicans: ... 182,989
Others: .......... 146,200
Total: ............ 621,909

O'Donnell is going to have to deal with that significant disparity between R and D registration. A victory would have to come mainly from the "Others" category.

I don't think she's got much of a chance.

I think we ought to call her "The Trebuchet."

After all, she took out a Castle...

Cheers!

And I don't think you understand how mad the country is at public officials. People of all parties are mad at want is going on and as the saying goes-

WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK

Well take also into consideration that you will see a lot of “cross-over” voting by Democrats who have “common sense”. Do not underestemate them.

The D’s are not at all motivated so those numbers aren’t really indicative of the situation. Even in presidential election years the D’s don’t vote in the percentages the R’s do. If this were 2008, yeah those numbers would be a problem. Not nearly so daunting now.

Wonder what he has to say about Sarah Palin?
Folks better wake up and realize what a powerful woman she is in the world of politics.

Especially that McCain brat. Her daddy needs to have a talk with her and tell her she’s not helping his election effort at all.

In 2006, there were roughly 250 thousand voters.

If she gets 150k, that will be a winning margin. She would have to get 85 percent of all registered republicans to come out and vote.

It’s all about the turnout.

His response to her win was absolutely shocking to me. Being the expert he supposedly is, in the art of politics, showed a side of him I’ve never seen. I’ve respected Rove in the past but you said the word that best describes his reaction, M E A N.

I might add the word vintictive as he came across as one who was determined to ruin her as well. He’s not just upset that she won, he’s furiously outraged over it.

You have to wonder how the outrage factor will influence the election (some fed up democrats) and the no longer interested democrats who won’t show up to vote. She can do it if all the cards are played correctly and the republican voters show up en-mass.

Got to remember that outrage knows no “R” or “D”, it is an equal opportunity emotion.

good point. I guess I’m assuming the R outrage will get the GOPers out to vote but not the dems.

Truly the GOPers will be fired up. But do not count out those Democrats that have pretty much have had it with the shanigans of D.C.

I doubt that the Castle supporters will be fired up.....and did it ever occur to some people that Democrats registered Republican so they could vote in the primary for the tea party candidate they knew they could beat???

I know for a fact that Dems did that in Harry Mitchell’s Congressional district (District 5, Arizona), because Mitchell is the incumbent Democrat who was unopposed by his own party....

Republicans jump for joy at the big turnout and the small Dem turnout, but the reason why Pelosi is saying Dems are gonna win in November is because she knows that the big Republican turnout and depressed Dem turnout was just Dems voting in Republican primaries for the tea party candidates....

and she knows that in November, it will be the Dem base fired up to keep out the “right-wingers”, whereas the Republican base will be split and half of Republicans will stay home....

In Arizona Republic newspaper today was a poll about the Bush tax cuts.
41% responded that they should be extended in their entirety, but 46% said they should only be extended for the middle class.....
So there’s your sign as to where the public really is this election.....

Bill O’Reilly claimed he invited her on his show. He postulated that she wasn’t up to speed to come on his show. Then I see the promo for Hannity where they announce O’Donnell will be on his show tonight. C’mon Bill you aren’t conservative enough. And, you know it.
