Back in July, the Washington Posts Richard Cohen wrote:
What has come to be called the Obama Paradox is not a paradox at all. Voters lack faith in him making the right economic decisions because, as far as theyre concerned, he hasnt. He went for health-care reform, not jobs. He supported the public option, then he didnt. Hes been cold to Israels Binyamin Netanyahu and then all over him like a cheap suit. Americans know Obama is smart. But we still dont know him. Before Americans can give him credit for what hes done, they have to know who he is. Were waiting.
Having taken the Posts advice and attempted to provide readers with an answer to that, Dinesh DSouza and Forbes magazine find themselves in hot water, with the same President the Post relentlessly supported, despite, as Cohen wrote, knowing little about. As spotted by Big Journalisms Frank Ross, Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post describes Robert Gibbs swinging into action to protect his boss from DSouzas hard-hitting article in the new edition of Forbes:
Dinesh DSouza has drawn a torrent of criticism with a Forbes cover story that accuses President Obama of adopting the cause of anti-colonialism from his Kenyan father.
But while most detractors focus on the authorand Newt Gingrich, who embraced the critiquethe White House is aiming its ammunition at the business magazine.
Its a stunning thing, to see a publication you would see in a dentists office, so lacking in truth and fact, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs says in an interview. I think it represents a new low. [Did this new low occur unexpectedly...? -- Ed]
Gibbs is meeting with Thursday afternoon with Forbess Washington bureau chief, Brian Wingfield, to discuss his objections.
Nice magazine youve got there Mr. Forbes. Be a shame if something were to happen to it
These children in DC cannot take any criticism. They react like spoiled brats.
Don Corleone is ruling our country.
Last office sit down with Gibbs and reporters I recall was in May when he called them into complain about “all the questions about the gulf oil spill”—because the substance happened to be true, as we found out.
“Americans know Obama is smart. “
No, no we don’t. In fact, quite the opposite.
Obama isn’t terribly bright, he’s a muslim Marxist, and he’s lazy.
"Smart" in journo-speak, means they share the same conceits.
Translated into normal parlance, it means dumb-as-a-post.
Uninformed Americans maybe. Based on what can Obama be called smart?
People with a voice need to step up and put a stop to this. Why is this thuggery allowed to stand?
Why do we have a POtuS about whom we do not know:
1. Grade School records
2. High School records
3. Occidental College records
4. Columbia University records
5. Columbia thesis
6. Harvard Law School records
7. Harvard Law Review articles
8. Articles from the University of Chicago
9. Passport History
10. Medical records
11. Files from his years as an Illinois state senator
12. Illinois State Bar Association records
13. Birth Certificate.
14. Baptism records
15. Adoption records.
I’ve seen W’s dental records from AL, for cripes sake. This is absolutely pathetic...
When Gibbs calls them in to "talk", they should ask for the above. Thats what they should do.
We know he’s smart? There’s as much evidence of that as there is that he made good grades in school or was born in Hawaii. That is to say none whatsoever.
Not at all. Imho, his IQ may be around 110 at best, and Michelle's is lower, possibly around 103 to 105.
I’m reading ‘Crimes Against Liberty’ by David Linbaugh.
If you do you won’t want to put it down. OMG!
You end up wondering how these people would react to serious criticism. What d’Souza wrote was the tiniest, most civil sample of the crapfountain Bush got for eight interminable years.
Don Corleone is ruling our country.
No. Moe Greene is running our casino.
Did you see the picture at the link?
Obama must be the smartest man in the world. He has kept his life a bigger secret than the Manhattan Project. James Bond was never this good.
