Kirsten Powers Defends the Tea Party: Is Her Fall to the Dark Side Reversing?
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | Calvin Freiburger

Posted on 09/18/2010 4:19:30 AM PDT by Michael van der Galien

When I last commented on Fox News Democrat analyst Kirsten Powers, I blasted her for abandoning her once-moderate posture and fully embracing the vile, smear-mongering ways of the hard Left. But in a new post on the Daily Beast, Powers issues a strong defense both of the moral seriousness and political potency of the Tea Party movement, begging the question: is there good left in her?

The Washington establishment has its nose out of joint because a rag-tag group of misfits have deigned to challenge the entitled incompetents who run the U.S. Congress. Somehow, because a few of the Tea Party candidates support abstinence training, or other garden variety right-wing notions, they are more dangerous than the people who were actually in charge of our country as it was being run into the ground economically.

We’ve been treated to obsessive coverage of Christine O’Donnell’s opinions on masturbation, and whether she had premarital sex, because we all know that these are the Very Important Issues facing our country.

Indeed. Why should a then-private citizen expressing her beliefs about sexual morality, making no mention whatsoever of government in doing so, be anywhere near as concerning as what the politicians she seeks to replace have done in office? Believing in the importance of teaching self-control to the young is no mark of insanity, and it’s nice to see someone on the other side speaking truth to power for a change.

Great graphic—but add an ‘n’ to “tyranny”.

Reporter:
"Can you tell our listeners, did you actually say those tings about masturbation?"

Candidate:
"Let's see... can you tell your listeners, are you still in junior high school? I'm serious. My opinions as a private citizen about something so purient are more important than this country being flushed down the drain by a Ruling Class Elite? Really?! We rabble can be treated to the yummy tidbit that our president was "Editor of the Harvard Law Review," but we can't be allowed to see one, not one! of his Editorials from that period? Why? We aren't fit to view his college trascripts? Why is that?"

"It's your infantile insistance on focusing on these juvenile matters from my past, while refusing to address the substantive issues about the man who would be our President and the Leader of the Free World that has you and your fallen ilk wondering if you'll still have your jobs next year. Which do you think is really more important to 'your listeners,' assuming you still have any? Which is more important to you?"

"While I could, if I chose to, spend hours answering questions which would tittillate your sophomoric ego and play along with this mindless, no-win game of personal destruction, I not only have a serious job to do here, I actually know what that job is. Take a lesson, kid."

"Next question..?"

These newbie candidates need some better interview coaches. They could really do some good if they thought about their replies to the drooling Leftie Misleadia.

More and more moderate republicans are realizing that they can either stand with the TEA party, or they can face oblivion alone.

It doesn’t really matter anymore if the TEA party is right or viable to the center. The TEA party owns the loyalty of too much of the core of the Republican party to be ignored.

If the TEA party is driven off they will take the base of the republican party with them.

This is not a republican Civil War this is an almost entirety one sided massacre.

You can go with us or you can go with the democrat/socialist.

One way or the other an epic storm is gathering, one so epic that the very fabric of our union may be shattered.

We have 2 completely incompatible forces on a collection course, I know at least one of them is determent to fight for freedom to the death. I don’t know what the determination the leftist have, but if it is anything like ours, and they are unwilling to peacefully separate, there will be a real shooting War.

A war in which those loyal to freedom(Captilsim) will forced to put everything on the line to defend it from hoses fascist leftist loyal to totalitarianism/total state/Communism.

Who wins this war depends entirely upon the make up and preparation of the sides. If our advantage is large enough there will never be a shot fired(Tyrants are nothing if they are not cowards), if it is too small then we will all be “removed” for simply speaking of our opposition or being potent future threats.

If it is somewhere in between the tyrant might be able to muster enough forces to wage an actual military campaign against us.

It is our job to see to it that this never comes to actual fight. That means we must build a force of patriots so form-able as to make confrontation on their side too risky for the tyrants.

Remember our key objective in this is raising the risk, and decreasing the likelihood that the tyrant will come out of this alive should they choose to tempt fate.

They must be “convinced” that it is in their best interest to pick anther day, and anther people.

Inevitably as with all things we will simply be buying time before we or our decedents must face this evil again.

The expansion of the state and the greed of tyrants to rule without the consent of the governed(individually) is an evil that can-never be truly or permanently defeated. Such is the course of human events, such is a product of our nature which condemns us and our posterity to endlessly re-fight this battle.

It is essential that we equip our children to win this battle when it comes to be their time to fight it.

They must know of the inherit but necessary evils of government. They must know why, and they must know how to fight this evil.

This is part of living in a free society, constant vigilances.

Our advantage is the inherently human truths of individualism and liberty.

Theirs is the greed for power, and the fear of anarchy.

"If the TEA party is driven off they will take the base of the republican party with them."

Along with the vast majority of the Independents and more than a few moderate, fiscally conservative Democrats.

He’s full of it. He was hired because he successfully helped propel George W. Bush, Republican, into the White House. If they didn’t want a partisan, they wouldn’t have hired him.

Rove was active in Republican politics since the Nixon days (when he was college-age I think). Just like his ex-boss, Bush, they are both country-club Republicans. Bush just fooled a lot of us at first with his Texas ways.

Right - but not just the newbies. Republicans across the board need to learn how to control the conversation. Reagan did this very well.

Mort’s a nice guy, but I’ve always seen him as the most liberal faux-conservative/moderates out there.

If asked about premarital sex, she should ask if the questioner supports homosexual marriage; then ask if the person followed up the convictions they have today by indulging in homosexual sex.

She has spotted what the rest of the vicious progressives hadn’t.

Continual vicious attacks on Mamma Grizzlies only make us dig in more and help those candidates...

The citizenry aren’t concerned about what color lipstick women are wearing, they are concerned about JOBS and out of control government!

And the lamestream media has lost a lot viewers. You can’t propagandize those who aren’t watching.

Bush just fooled a lot of us at first with his Texas ways.

A lot of people are still fooled despite Bush signing into law the largest entitlement program since the (not so)Great Society and nearly passing amnesty. I guess with some people it takes a brick upside the head.....
