Today, an outfit called Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed complaints with the Delaware U.S. Attorney's Office and the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against Delaware senatorial candidate Christine O'Donnell, claiming she used campaign funds for personal living expenses, made false statements and committed tax fraud by failing to claim monies she used for her personal expenses as income.
The 'evidence' consists of an affidavit from a disgruntled staffer, a number of FEC disbursement reports that could be taken in a number of ways, and a partisan article from the Delaware -based News Journal.
Much more interesting is who CREW actually is. Their chief donor is George Soros' Open Society Institute, and they also get funds from 'progressive' outlets like Democracy Alliance, Service Employees International Union(SEIU), the Arca Foundation, and the Gill Foundation.
And they're quite open about it. According to Naomi Seligman, the group's deputy director, "We are progressive...We do work within a larger progressive infrastructure."
Melanie Sloan, CREW's Executive Director has an interesting background as well. Prior to starting CREW in 2003, she worked for Democrats John Conyers,( funny, no crew suit for Detroit councilwoman Mrs. COnyers!) Charles Schumer, and Joe Biden. And as an attorney, she represented Valerie Plame of all people inher suit against the Bush Administration.
While CREW claims to be non-partisan, what you mostly find if you look at their record is press releases about the few Democrats they've targeted and lawsuits and formal complaints against Republicans..which is exactly what you'd expect. In fact the only Democrats they've ever filed ethics complaints against are Louisiana Senator Mary Landreiu ( hardly a progressive icon) which they didn't pursue and Queens Democrat Gregory Meeks after he was already under investigation for misusing funds from charities.
This strikes me as a tactic reminiscent of those famous 'ethics complaints' launched against Sarah Palin. They were all bogus and came to nothing, but it costs a candidate time and money to defend against them.
The funny thing is I bet these woman consider themselves feminists.
But hey...anything for the agenda, right CREW?
Soros wants all the “working wealth distributed” in the non-ruling class
Who in the hell does he think he is. Someone needs to levelize him.
I need a shower after I watch Soros on tv. Pure Evil
“Because hes untouchable. Thats why billionaires like him demand a higher income tax. It keeps the riff raff (us) in their place and creeps like him never pay a dime. The income tax is based on INCOME and guys like him already own their billions...they have no income. Thats why when obama says hes going to tax the rich hes lying. Hes not taxing the rich at all...hes taxing small business owners and those well off enough to be comfortable but who still have a hand in the economy generating jobs and spending money. Guys like Soros contribute nothing...they live like kings and spend all their time and energy making sure that the middle and lower classes dont get out of line.”
—That’s excellent. (And there are actually a lot of similarities in what you said between them and the power-mad establishment RINOs).
Want to see something entertaining? Publicly pressure sanctimonious types like that to start redistributing their wealth directly to the poor who really could use it- and that’s when the truth would really come out about them for all to see...
“O’Donnell needs to just talk to Delaware citizens and stay on message. As a matter of fact, this is my “Message to Taxed Enough Already Candidates”:
Stay on message. Use your years studying the underlying principles of true conservatism as the foundation for what you say”...
—You raise lots of good points.
Stay on message. Use your years studying the underlying principles of true conservatism as the foundation for what you say
Love it. Delaware is a small state with well less than a million voters. Come on down George, we'll expose you for the hypocritical evil that you are.
Right to stay on the message of conservatism, basically individual responsibility versus government assumption of such; but simultaneously I would really really recommend exposing Soros. Perfect opportunity here. Do it subtly, but affirmatively, so that the Media cannot ignore it. I think even the DE bluebloods might catch on.
So, Soros, Hillary et al and now the Obamas, intend to be the “ruling” class. Guess they haven’t read their history books. The “ruling class” eventually is overthrown. I was going to say “beheaded” but the muslims have that pretty well in the bag.
Have a group of Christians given this man into God’s hands? Join me in prayer.
Lord God and Heavenly Father, I give George Soros to you to do as you see fit. You know His past Father, nothing is hidden from you. George Soros reminds me of Nebuchadnezzar, Father, who thought he was like You! Father, this man could be used by You to show your grace if he but took the advice of your Son to the rich young ruler, to sell all his possessions and give the money to the poor, and give you the glory that is not his in any way shape or form. Like Nebuchadnezzar, you could have him eat grass, but you know what is best for us all. Hear the cries of your people and those others who this man has hurt for sport, and if it be your will, vengeance is yours, for we humans tend to over react. Thank you Father for always being just, and doing at the right time, either now, or later. It is up to you. In the Name of your Son, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
(And there are actually a lot of similarities in what you said between them and the power-mad establishment RINOs).
There really are, aren’t there? And every day that becomes a little clearer. Most of the RINOs who have turned visciously against us haven’t surprised me. Krauthammer is the exception. His disdain for the current conservative uprising is sad and very disappointing.
When will we be able to ship this piece if human scum back to Hungary?
“Most of the RINOs who have turned visciously against us havent surprised me. Krauthammer is the exception. His disdain for the current conservative uprising is sad and very disappointing.”
—I had a lingering sense that this was his view ever since he dismissed the idea of Palin becoming president one day. (Nobody I knew seemed to agree with me at the time, so I questioned my hunch). Not so much on the merits of his claim- he’s a bright guy obviously and only time knows whether he will be right, or not- but in his tone (I seem to recall watching it live, and something struck me about the way he said it):
Did this CREW thing to Mark Foley.
And the Soros owned DNC will do this many more times.
I think people like Soros think they are wealthy enough to play the system and avoid the impact.
King Solomon in the bible thought he was too big to fail too but Jehovah taught him otherwise. Let’s hope it plays out the same for the evil, wicked, vile, Soros.
“Can someone explain to me why someone like Soros would want this?”
Soros should call off his dogs.
