Soros Sics One Of His Front Groups On Christine O'Donnell (CREW's dubious FEC complaint 'evidence')

Today, an outfit called Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed complaints with the Delaware U.S. Attorney's Office and the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against Delaware senatorial candidate Christine O'Donnell, claiming she used campaign funds for personal living expenses, made false statements and committed tax fraud by failing to claim monies she used for her personal expenses as income.

The 'evidence' consists of an affidavit from a disgruntled staffer, a number of FEC disbursement reports that could be taken in a number of ways, and a partisan article from the Delaware -based News Journal.

Much more interesting is who CREW actually is. Their chief donor is George Soros' Open Society Institute, and they also get funds from 'progressive' outlets like Democracy Alliance, Service Employees International Union(SEIU), the Arca Foundation, and the Gill Foundation.

And they're quite open about it. According to Naomi Seligman, the group's deputy director, "We are progressive...We do work within a larger progressive infrastructure."

Melanie Sloan, CREW's Executive Director has an interesting background as well. Prior to starting CREW in 2003, she worked for Democrats John Conyers,( funny, no crew suit for Detroit councilwoman Mrs. COnyers!) Charles Schumer, and Joe Biden. And as an attorney, she represented Valerie Plame of all people inher suit against the Bush Administration.

While CREW claims to be non-partisan, what you mostly find if you look at their record is press releases about the few Democrats they've targeted and lawsuits and formal complaints against Republicans..which is exactly what you'd expect. In fact the only Democrats they've ever filed ethics complaints against are Louisiana Senator Mary Landreiu ( hardly a progressive icon) which they didn't pursue and Queens Democrat Gregory Meeks after he was already under investigation for misusing funds from charities.

This strikes me as a tactic reminiscent of those famous 'ethics complaints' launched against Sarah Palin. They were all bogus and came to nothing, but it costs a candidate time and money to defend against them.

The funny thing is I bet these woman consider themselves feminists.

But hey...anything for the agenda, right CREW?

Progressives want all the wealth evenly distributed. Can someone explain to me why someone like Soros would want this?

They’d better watch out. O’Donnell might turn them into newts.

(Here’s hoping they don’t get better.)

Soros wants all the "working wealth distributed" in the non-ruling class. The uber-wealthy hide wealth in ways those who live off it can't.

I think the interesting thing is many of the wealthy in this country hide their wealth overseas yet desire a one world government (UN). I don't think they have thought that thru...

“Progressives want all the wealth evenly distributed. Can someone explain to me why someone like Soros would want this?”

It’s really just a game of ‘watch the birdie’ with a lot of leftists.

The Kennedys, Kerry, Pelosi, etc.- it’s not like they will ever let their wealth be taken away from them and redistributed- but that’s what they want people to believe, so they look like the good guys. And although they talk a good game, a lot of leftists aren’t exactly known for being honest when it comes to redistributing their own wealth through paying taxes:

(Soros is also being investigated himself for insider trading...)

Exactly. Unless a woman is pro-choice and diehard liberal, anything else she may accomplish in her life (national politician, CEO, etc.) is almost irrelevant to these people...

Because he’s untouchable. That’s why billionaires like him demand a higher income tax. It keeps the riff raff (us) in their place and creeps like him never pay a dime. The income tax is based on INCOME and guys like him already own their billions...they have no income. That’s why when obama says he’s going to tax the rich he’s lying. He’s not taxing the rich at all...he’s taxing small business owners and those well off enough to be comfortable but who still have a hand in the economy generating jobs and spending money. Guys like Soros contribute nothing...they live like kings and spend all their time and energy making sure that the middle and lower classes don’t get out of line.

O'Donnell needs to just talk to Delaware citizens and stay on message. As a matter of fact, this is my "Message to Taxed Enough Already Candidates":

Stay on message. Use your years studying the underlying principles of true “conservatism” as the foundation for what you say—

- that individual liberty is a gift from the Creator, not a grant from government;

- that the United States Constitution is the document by which “We, the People” limit the power which we grant to our elected representatives;

- that you stand for limited government and individual liberty; and,

- that America’s founding principles made the country a place of opportunity for the oppressed, prosperous, a beacon for liberty in the world.

If you stick to principles, and don’t allow your enemies (opponents) to define the campaign as one on “issues,” you will win. The opposition, both Dems and RINO’s don’t understand and can’t begin to compete with those principles.

During the Democrats’ push for the tyrannical power move which they labeled “health care reform,” Sen. Baucus said proudly: “It is a shift, a leveling . . . .”

America’s liberty and prosperity for over 200 years was based on another idea. They protected the earnings of hardworking citizens from the coercive hand of government by a written Constitution which did not allow the Baucuses, Obamas, and Reids of the world such “taking” power. Hear Samuel Adams:

“Is it now high time for the people of this country to explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves. It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent, it is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice.” - Samuel Adams

And:

“The utopian schemes of leveling and a community of goods, are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government unconstitutional.”,/i> - Samuel Adams

Americans finally are seeing that progressive policies are ruining the American dream, and they will respond to positive statements of fundamental principles, because, as in 1776 and 1787, those principles are “self-evident.”

Could one validly infer from this Soros connection, that the RINOs and DL Republicans who have been piling upon Christine are Soros fellow travelers? Just asking?

Well, it’s probably more than an inference...
